Abstract:
A display device is provided. The display device includes a display, a first communicator configured to communicate with an external device, a second communicator configured to communicate with a remote controller, and a processor configured to control the display to display an image corresponding to an image signal received from the external device through the first communicator, and the processor, in response to a control signal being received from the remote controller through the second communicator while the image is displayed on the display, controls the display to display a user interface (Ul) for changing a channel, and in response to the control signal being received from the remote controller through the second communicator while an image which includes a specific object is displayed on the display, controls the display not to display the UI for changing a channel.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, apparatuses, and devices are described for reverse channel audio (RCA) session establishment and management. A sink device may identify a unidirectional communication channel with a source device. The sink device may determine that a trigger is present, where the trigger is associated with a RCA transmission to the source device, and establish a RCA session for transmitting the RCA transmission to the source device based at least in part on the identified trigger. A source device may identify a unidirectional communication channel with a sink device and receive an indication that a sink device supports RCA transmissions, such as via the unidirectional communication channel. The source device may transmit a trigger to the sink device to initiate the RCA transmission, such as via the unidirectional communication channel, and receive the RCA transmission from the sink device based at least in part on the trigger.
Abstract:
A system and method for identifying a user-selected object in television programming, the method comprising presenting television programming to a user (220), the television programming comprising user- selectable objects; determining an on- screen pointing location pointed to by a user of the television (230); and identifying a user- selectable object in the presented television programming at which the user is pointing (240) based, at least in part, on the determined on-screen pointing location.
Abstract:
A touch panel 47 is constructed by a display/sensor unit 51a which is slightly larger than a display screen of an LCD 46 and a sensor unit 51b which is projected to the outside from one side, for example, from one side on the right. A finger 52 of the user is touched to a selection item such as desired button, icon, or the like on the display/sensor unit 51a and vertically moved on the sensor unit 51b. A selection display 53 constructed by a plurality of buttons is displayed along the side of the right side of the display screen by the LCD 46. A button beside the finger 52 is highlighted and when the finger 52 is released, the highlighted button is selected. If there are no buttons adjacent to the finger 52, the button is not highlighted. Even if the finger 52 is released, the state is not changed. When finger 52 is moved to the display/sensor unit 51a, the selection display 53 disappears.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and media for presenting media content are provided. In some implementations, a system for presenting media content is provided, the system comprising: a hardware processor that is programmed to: establish a connection with a media playback device; respond to a discovery request from a computing device presenting a media content item; establish a persistent communication channel with the computing device over a network in response to a request from the computing device to establish the persistent communication channel; receive identifying information of the media content item being presented by the computing device and identifying information of a source of the media content item being presented by the computing device; request the media content item from the identified source of the media content item as a stream of media content; and cause the media content item to be presented using the media playback device.
Abstract:
An operating method of a display device is provided. The method includes: recognizing, by the display device, a user's function control voice for controlling a function of a peripheral device; controlling, by the display device, the peripheral device to perform a function corresponding to the recognized function control voice in the peripheral device through a remote control device; and providing, by the display device, a control state of the peripheral device representing that the function corresponding to the recognized function control voice is performed in the peripheral device.
