Abstract:
A plasma display device includes a front panel (54) having a glass body (38) secured to a surface of a substrate (32). The glass body has a plurality of channels (40) in its exposed surface with upstanding ribs (44) being between the channels. Conductive first electrodes (48) are on the body with each electrode extending along the bottom of a separate channel. The first electrodes are preferably embedded in the glass body. A transparent front panel is located over a back panel (31) and is seated on and secured to the glass body. A plurality of spaced, parallel second electrodes extend between the front panel and the back panel substantially orthogonally to the first electrodes. Phosphors which emit different colors are coated on the channels and the channels are filled with a plasma gas.
Abstract:
A woven article having plural weave layers comprises a plurality of electrically insulating and/or electrically conductive yarn in the warp and a plurality of electrically insulating and/or electrically conductive yarn in the weft interwoven with the yarn in the warp. An electrical function is provided by one or more circuit carriers disposed in cavities in the plural layer woven article and/or one or more functional yarn in the warp and/or the weft, wherein the circuit carrier and/or functional yarn include an electrical contact for connecting to the electrically conductive yarn in the warp and/or weft.
Abstract:
A panoramic visualization system (20) has multiple cameras with overlapping fields of view (14). A pointing device (22) supplies view port direction information to a processing system (21), which blends the fields of view (14) to produce panoramic view data that represents the panoramic view imaged by the cameras (12), the processing system also produces view port data along the view port direction. The processing system (21) uses a vision processing board. A display device (26) images the view port (113) data to show an image area. The processing system (21) beneficially corrects for the relative positions of the cameras, for the lens distortions of the individual cameras, and for roll, pitch, and yaw. The system may include an autotrack assembly that automatically moves the view port (113) to track a moving object, while the processing system (21) may enable multiple users to view multiple view ports. The cameras (12) are beneficially mounted on a vehicle (700).
Abstract:
A color display apparatus (301) and method for displaying colors using radiation sources (312) are provided. The displays may unclude multiple radiation sources (312), a display surface (324) and control hardware (230) and software that enable accurate and reproducible color display. Another apparatus provides means for generating colors upon request and communicating digital information regarding the generation of the color spectrum to local or remote display devices. The apparatus may be used in selecting and ordering colors subject to supplier constraints.
Abstract:
A plasma display having a transparent front panel (622) spaced from a back panel (610) which is a metal core (612) having layers of a dielectric material (614) extending over and bonded to the core. Conductive electrodes (620) are on the surface of or embedded in the dielectric layer of the back panel. The materials of which the back panel is made are chosen to form a back panel having a thermal coefficient of expansion (TCE) compatible with that of the front panel. The dielectric material is made from a green ceramic tape which is bonded to the core and cofired with the core to form the back panel. Barrier ribs (616) are formed on the back panel by embossing or scribing the green tape before cofiring the bonded assembly. Slight differences in the TCEs of the front and back panels may be compensated for by heating the panel having the lower TCE to a temperature hotter than the panel having the higher TCE during the frit seal process. Alternatively, the materials for the dieletric (614) may be chosen such that the composite TCE of the cofired assembly (610) matches the TCE of the front panel.
