摘要： A moulded filter medium, e.g. a filter cloth comprises a sheet of porous nonwoven material (1) which is pre-moulded and pre-formed to conform to and snugly fit into the recesses and contours of a filter press plate. The sheet may comprise sintered partially fused particles of plastics, metal or ceramic or a cast acrylic or methacrylic resin or polymer sheet, or a coagulated polymer or microporous foam. The cloth may include a support structure such as a perforated membrane or mesh (3) or a spiral link fabric (12) embedded in the sheet.

摘要： An industrial fabric comprises synthetic yarns or fibres which have been subjected to plasma treatment. If fibres are used, they may be treated as fibres, when made up into yarns or when formed into a woven or nonwoven layer. One or both sides of the layer may be treated. The treatment may enhance hydrophilic properties by using a plasma containing oxygen, air or ammonia. Hydrophilic properties may be enhanced by using a plasma containing a silane, a siloxane or a perfluorocarbon.

摘要： A pintle wire (10) for insertion through interdigitating end loops of a belt fabric or of a spiral connector, is disclosed which is expandable after insertion into the seam, for example by means of a sheath (12) which includes a thermally activated expanding agent. This is subject to heating to expand the sheath, causing the pintle wire to swell and fill voids in the seam area reducing permeability in the seam and thus reducing marking of paper webs carried by the belt.
