Abstract:
An optical beam steering device (100) and a method for beam steering are described. The optical beam steering device including: a laser source (102) coupled to an optical phased array, OPA. The OPA includes: a beam splitter network (103) optically coupled to the laser source and configured to split a laser beam generated by the laser source into N outputs to generate an output optical beam; a first network of first phase shifters (110) configured to steer the output optical beam in a first direction away from a longitude direction; and a second network of second phase shifters (112) configured to steer the output optical beam in a second direction away from the longitude direction, the second direction being opposite to the first direction.
Abstract:
Optical module for access networks to wide band communication systems of the type including at least: a first multiplexer in wavelength (WDM1) suitable to receive in input an optical support (1), coming from a predetermined side of the module (MO); a second optical support (3), one end of which is adapted to correspond on said predetermined side of the optical module (MO); a reflecting element placed downstream from one of the optical branches of said first multiplexer in wavelength (WDM1). According to the invention, the said second output of the first mutliplexer in wavelength (WDM1) is connected to a second multiplexer in wavelength (WDM2) of the propagating and counterpropagating type, preferentially implemented by means of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer, incorporating said reflecting element (5). The other end of said second optical support (3) is connected to a port of said second multiplexer in wavelength (WDM2).
