Abstract: Method and system for utilizing sequential input inertial sensor data to calculate recursive features for training a machine learning algorithm or for classifying the data as a known class. Abstract: A method to test an asynchronous finite state machine (302) for faults, the method including disabling (326, 328, 330) state transitions out of a state of the asynchronous finite state machine and inputting (318, 322, 324) test data to the AFSM (302) to trigger a transition from the state to an expected state. The method further including enabling (326, 328, 330) transitions out of the state of the asynchronous finite state machine (302), and determining (340, 342) whether the asynchronous finite state machine (302) has performed a successful transition to the expected state.
