Provided is an adhesive tape containing a supporting base material and an adhesive, wherein the supporting base material is a film comprising a liquid crystal polymer which shows optical anisotropy in molten state. The adhesive tape is excellent in water vapor gas barrier property and heat resistance, and it is also cheap. Thus it is used suitably as masking tape for painting, moisture proof tape, rust inhibiting tape, insulating tape, solder resistant tape, etc.

A laminated material comprising at least a paper layer as a substrate and a layer of a liquid-crystal polyester resin composition, which are laid one upon the other, the liquid-crystal polyester resin composition-containing layer comprising (A) liquid-crystal polyester as a continuous phase and (B) rubber having a functional group reactive with the liquid-crystal polyester as a dispersed phase. The laminated material has an excellent heat resistance, flexibility, and gas barrier properties and a paper pack container is formed from said laminated material.

A liquid crystal polyester resin composition comprising a liquid crystal polyester (A) in a continuous phase and a rubber having a functional group reactive with the liquid crystal polyester (B) in a dispersed phase. A liquid crystal polyester resin composition of the present invention is excellent in heat resistance, molding processability and mechanical properties, particularly in impact resistance and tensile property, capable of improving anisotropy of a molded article. Furthermore, film formation processability can be improved at a low cost, and a film produced for the composition has excellent gas barrier property, drawing property and flexibility.

The present invention provides a liquid crystal polyester resin composition, which is manufactured at low cost and has favorable gas barrier properties and improved impact resistance, vibration-damping properties, thin-wall properties (mechanical properties of thin-wall molded articles), and film-forming properties, while maintaining excellent heat resistance and mechanical properties of a liquid crystal polyester. A liquid crystal polyester resin composition of the invention includes 55.0 through 99.9 percent by weight of a liquid crystal polyester as a component (A) and 0.1 through 45.0 percent by weight of an epoxy group-containing ethylene copolymer as a component (B), wherein the component (B) includes: (a) 50 through 96.5 percent by weight of an ethylene unit; (b) 0.5 through 30 percent by weight of an unsaturated glycidyl carboxylate unit or an unsaturated glycidyl ether unit; and (c) 3 through 40 percent by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated ester compound unit.
