The invention relates to an external corona shielding (16) for a conductor rod (7) of an electrical machine (1), which conductor rod is coated with a main insulation layer (11). The external corona shielding (16) comprises a first layer (21) that covers the main insulation layer (11) and a second layer (20) that in turn covers the first layer (21). Each of the layers (20, 21) comprises a conductive, impregnable layer (22, 23) that is in each case provided with a sliding layer (25, 26), the sliding layers (25, 26) of the two layers (20, 21) facing each other. Each of the sliding layers (25, 26) also has at least one cut-out (30, 31), the two conductive layers (22, 23) being connected to each other through the said cut-outs (30, 31) by means of a permanently elastic, electrically conductive connection (32).

In electrical operating equipment having a high rated electrical voltage, a main insulation can be surrounded at the end thereof with an overhang corona shielding. In order to predefine the electrical resistance of the overhang corona shielding a partly conductive lacquer can be applied in a plurality of layers. In this case, transitions can arise in the resistance value of the overhang corona shielding between the layers. An excessive increase in the field strength can then occur here, as a result of which partial discharges can also occur within the overhang corona shielding. The problem addressed by the present invention is that of providing an overhang corona shielding having high electrical strength. The electrical conduction device according to the invention comprises an electrically conductive conduction element (40) and an electrically insulating sheathing (42) surrounding said conduction element (40) at least in regions. An overhang corona shielding in the form of a coating (44) composed of a material having a resistivity that increases towards an end (42') of the sheathing (42) is arranged on the sheathing (42) at an outer side. The invention also encompases an overhang corona shielding arrangement (44) and a method for producing an overhang corona shielding.
