The present invention relates to a composition for use in the building industry, advantageously a composition for coating or finishing flat surfaces, such as walls, said composition including (% expressed by weight relative to the total weight of the composition): 0.2-10% of at least one superplasticizer selected from the modified polycarboxylic ethers, 0.5-5% of at least one thickener of inorganic and/or organic origin, 5-30% of an aqueous polymer dispersion, and 30-70% of at least one mineral filler. Said composition can further include up to 60% of water, and can also include at least one compound selected from biocidal agents, anti-foaming agents, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.
