    摘要： An apparatus and method for embedding additional information embeds plural pieces of additional information on a signal as electronic watermark information. In detail, plural pieces of additional information to be embedded on a signal are generated, the additional information is converted into electronic watermark information, the sizes of embedding parts for respective electronic watermark information are defined under control, and the electronic watermark information is embedded on the signal based on the control signal. Therefore, the additional information are embedded so that additional information having a higher significance degree can be more reliably and rapidly detected.

    摘要： A copyright protecting method of scrambling an information signal inputted via an input path (A1,B1,C1,E1) and outputting it via an output path (A1,B1,C1,E1) is provided. First, a selected condition to eliminate copying of the information signal via an unauthorized path is set. The selected condition includes combinations of a plurality of types of scramble systems applicable to the information signal and a plurality of types of the copy control information. Then, the type of the scramble system of the inputted information signal and the type of the copy control information of the inputted information signal are discriminated. Further, a predetermined scramble system is applied to the inputted information signal and a scrambled output is produced when a combination of the discriminated type of the scramble system and the discriminated type of the copy control information coincides with that included in the selected condition.

    摘要： An information reproducing apparatus (S2) has a read device (80), is capable of reproducing sub picture information and is also capable of performing a highlight display of the sub picture information. In an information record medium (1: DVD) to be reproduced by this reproducing apparatus, at least the sub picture information and reproduction control information (50: PCI) to control a reproduction of the sub picture information are recorded on the record track such that the sub picture information and the reproduction control information are divided into a plurality of groups (30: VOBU). Each of the groups is a predetermined unit able to be accessed by the information reproducing apparatus, and has a sub picture pack (44) in which the sub picture information is contained and a control pack (41) in which the reproduction control information is contained. The reproduction control information includes (i) highlight display control information (200, 300, 400) prescribing at least one of the highlight display of the sub picture information and an operation control corresponding to the sub picture information and (ii) time management information (202, 203) indicating times to manage a start time and an end time respectively of at least one of an effective time period during which the highlight display is effective and an effective time period during which the operation control is effective.
