The present disclosure relates to a method performed in a Radio Access Network (RAN) comprised in a communication network, for locating a communication bottleneck in said communication network. The method comprises estimating a first Round Trip Time (RTT) between the RAN and a terminal device connected via the RAN. The method also comprises estimating a second RTT between the RAN and a server of a service provider configured for providing a service to the terminal device via the RAN. The method also comprises estimating an end-to-end RTT between the terminal device and server, based on the first and second RTT. The method also comprises determining a relative contribution of the second RTT to the end-to-end RTT. The method also comprises determining that the relative contribution of the second RTT indicates that signalling performance between the server and terminal device is limited by the signalling performance between the server and RAN.

A technique for operating a media distribution network is presented. In the media distribution network media data are transmitted via an access network in media bursts to a media client. Each media burst is followed by an idle period in which no media data are transmitted. A method aspect of this technique comprises receiving, from an access network node, a control message and adjusting, responsive to the control message, at least one of a media data volume of a media burst and a duration of an idle period following the media burst. The control message may be indicative of a load status of the access network, and the adjustment may be performed taking into account that load status.

The invention relates to scheduling of several users in a packet switched radio communication network. The idea of the invention is to calculate a scheduling number (S) for each user before each scheduling event. The number is related to the QoS, the weight (W) requested by the particular user and earlier schedulings. The relation (rij) is decisive of which user to be scheduled in the next event.In the flowchart a user TBFi is scheduled (35) if it has the greatest rij (34). Otherwise another user is scheduled (39).The invention solves the problem of fair distribution of radio resources to users requesting different QoS.
