摘要： A cathode ray tube has an electron gun that comprises a main electron lens composed of at least four electrodes including first, second, third and fourth grids (5, 6, 7, 8) arranged in that order. A first voltage at a moderate level is applied to the first grid (5), and an anode voltage is applied to the fourth grid (8). The second grid (6) and the third grid (7) adjacent to each other are connected through a resistor (100), and they are energized at second and third voltages, respectively, which are substantially equal to each other and corresponding to an intermediate potential between the first voltage and the anode voltage. The grids are configured and arranged so that the second capacitance between the second and third grids (6, 7) may become smaller than the first capacitance between the first and second grids (5, 6) and the third capacitance between the third and fourth grids (7, 8). As a result, the cathode ray tube keeps the electron beam shape from flattening due to the difference in lens magnification between the horizontal and vertical directions in the peripheries of the screen, and provides a desirable image characteristic in the whole screen area.

摘要： An electron gun of a cathode-ray tube has a main electron lens portion comprising at least four electrodes, i.e., first, second, third, and fourth grids (5, 6, 7, 8) arranged in this order. An intermediate-level first voltage is applied to the first grid (5), and an anode voltage is applied to the fourth grid (8). The mutually adjacent second and third grids (6, 7) are interconnected through a resistor (100). Substantially the same second and third voltages higher than the intermediate-level first voltage and lower than the anode voltage are applied to the second and third grids (6, 7), respectively. An asymmetrical lens is provided between the second and third grids (6, 7). A voltage varying synchronously with a deflection magnetic field is applied to the first grid (5). Lateral crushing of the electron beam caused in the peripheral part of the screen because of the difference between the lens magnifications in the horizontal and vertical directions hardly occurs, and good picture characteristics are imparted to the whole screen of the cathode-ray tube.

摘要： The bead glass placing position of a support section (122) contained in the second grid (112) of an electron gun structure is positioned in a region on the third grid (113) side of a thick plate (121) having an electron beam passing hole. The electrode structure (123) of the third grid (113) on the second grid side is formed in a cup-like shape, and the bottom face (140) of the structure (123) is formed in a rectangular shape having a vertical width which is narrower than that of the opening of the bottom face (140) on a fourth grid side. A side wall (142) which is joined to the longer side of the bottom face (140) is inclined to the fourth grid side from the second grid side. Thus, an electron gun structure which is improved in withstand voltage characteristics without giving any influence to the electric field (156) of an auxiliary lens and has a simple structure can be obtained.
