摘要： An electric device provided with a pair of electrodes, three substrates, and positive temperature coefficient elements which are interposed among the substrates and have metallic layers on both surfaces. The outer two substrates have metallic layers on their internal surfaces, and the metallic layers are electrically connected to one of the paired electrodes and to the metallic layers of the positive temperature coefficient elements facing the metallic layers of the substrate. The central substrate has metallic layers on both surfaces and the metallic layers are electrically connected to the other electrode of the paired electrodes and to the metallic layers of the positive temperature coefficient elements facing the metallic layers of the central substrate. The electric device has increased areas of PTC elements without increasing the projected area of the device as a whole.

摘要： There is provided a switch having a new function for protection from excessive current. The switch includes a conductive movable member (9) and at least two terminals (1, 2, 3). By mechanically moving the movable member (9), the switch can be set to a state that the movable member (9) is simultaneously brought into contact with the two terminals (1, 2) and to a state that the movable member (9) is apart from one (1) of the two terminals (1, 2). At least one (2) of the two terminals (1, 2) is separated into a conductive contact unit (2a) which is brought into contact with the movable member (9) and a conductive connection unit (2c) which is electrically connected to an external element (not depicted). A PTC member (2b) is arranged so as to be sandwiched between the contact unit (2a) and the connection unit (2c). The PTC member (2b) may be a PTC element having a PTC material layer and a pair of conductive material layers arranged on the opposing surfaces.

For the metal member (2), a material that is melted by heat build-up of the conductive polymer (5) overheated by thermal expansion is selected and used.
