The present disclosure discloses a pilot signal configuration method in a wireless communication system and an associated wireless network node. The method comprises allocating a dedicated pilot signal to a User Equipment (UE) within a combined cell. The method further comprises selecting, from all Transmit-Receive Points (TRPs) within the combined cell, at least one TRP in the proximity of the UE for transmission of the dedicated pilot signal to the UE. The present disclosure further provides a pilot-signal-based reception method in a wireless communication network and an associated UE.

The present invention discloses schemes to perform load control taking uplink BLER statistics into account. An uplink load control method and apparatus are provided in a wireless communication system. The uplink load control method comprises estimating uplink load budget in a cell of the wireless communication system; determining whether the cell is over-loaded based on Block Error Rate (BLER) statistics of non- Guarded Bit Rate (non-GBR) users in the cell and/or Fast Congestion Control (FCC) action statistics in the cell; decreasing the uplink load budget if it is determined that the cell is over-loaded; and increasing the uplink load budget if it is determined that the cell is not over-loaded. Preferably, increasing or decreasing of the uplink load budget is based on the BLER stastics BLER statistic of targeted users by FCC. By means of the BLER and FCC status, BLER of EUL users can be controlled in an acceptable range while maximizing the benefit of FCC in improving load utilization and consequently uplink throughput as much as possible. On the other hand, the uplink load control method can further comprises adjusting a RoT target RoT tgt , based on BLER statistics of Guarded Bit Rate (GBR) users in order to increase load headroom available for non- GBR users in appropriate conditions without violating the performance of GBR users.

Methods and devices for determining the available load in a cell of a cellular radio system are provided where the determination of the available load is made in response to an estimated inter cell interference load. An estimated inter cell interference is determined. The inter cell interference change events are monitored by determining when a User Equipment changes serving cell or when a User Equipment adds or removes a cell to the active set of the User Equipment. The determined inter cell interference is adjusted by an estimated load caused by the User Equipment causing an interference change event, and the available load is determined in response to the adjusted inter cell interference. The method can continuously update inter cell interference. Moreover, the update can be made fast and thereby allow an improved estimation of the available cell load.

By introducing a novel parameter common to all links along the entire multihop route it is possible to more flexibly allocate, for each of a number of the links, a set of three interdependent link transmit parameters representative of link transmit energy, link transmit time or link transmit bandwidth or link code word consumption, and link transmit power. Basically, the common parameter is determined based on a given end-to-end (ETE) transmit parameter constraint for the entire multihop route. The idea is then to assign or allocate, for each considered link, the three interdependent link transmit parameters based on the common parameter and local link characteristics. In this way, all three link transmit parameters may (and generally will) be different between at least two links on the route when the links have different link characteristics, assuming that each link transmit parameter is also dependent on the local link characteristics. Preferably, the common parameter is determined in the process of optimizing a given objective ETE function.
