摘要: A communication system (10) is provided which is arranged for accessing a network by a group of first access paths and a group of second access paths. The first and second access paths have a different access technology. An access path monitor (21) is provided for obtaining status information related to the access paths in accordance with the monitoring procedure. An access controller (22) is provided for selecting an access path for a communication session in accordance with a selection procedure and in dependence on the status information. A modifier (23) is provided for modifying one or both of the monitoring procedure and the selection procedure in accordance with a modification procedure and in dependence on decision information. The modifier is arranged such that said modification procedure comprises a determination of whether one or more service requirements are fulfilled for said communication session.

The methods further include evaluating the measurement or the demodulated and decoded information for each of the plurality of resources against a predetermined criterion, and then discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements, or discontinuing the demodulating and decoding and evaluation of information, in response to determining that the predetermined criterion is met, such that one or more resources in the predetermined set of resources are neither measured nor demodulated and decoded. The methods further comprise deactivating receiver circuitry, further in response to determining that the predetermined criterion is met. The method further comprises receiving, in a first downlink subframe, a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing transmission formatted according to a first numerology and receiving, in a second downlink subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology, the second numerology differing from the first numerology.

摘要: A fifth-generation wireless communications network includes a server node, radio network equipment and a wireless device. In an example method, a server node receives first user data in response to (i) the wireless device receiving from the radio network equipment information indicating a plurality of uplink access configurations, each uplink access configuration including a random access configuration; (ii) the wireless device receiving an uplink access configuration index; (iii) the wireless device using the uplink access configuration index to identify an uplink access configuration from among the indicated plurality of uplink access configurations, and (iv) the wireless device transmitting the first user data to the wireless communications network according to the identified uplink access configuration. In the example method, further, the server node initiates transmission of second and third user data. This causes the wireless device to (v) receive from the radio network equipment, in a first downlink subframe, a first OFDM transmission formatted according to a first numerology and carrying the second user data, and (vi) receive from the radio network equipment, in a second downlink subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology and carrying the third user data, wherein the numerologies have different subcarrier spacings.

The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving, in a first downlink subframe, a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing, OFDM, transmission formatted according to a first numerology and receiving, in a second downlink subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology, the second numerology differing from the first numerology, where the first numerology has a first subcarrier spacing and the second numerology has a second subcarrier spacing, the first subcarrier spacing differing from the second subcarrier spacing. The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving and processing first Layer 2 data on a first physical data channel and receiving and processing second Layer 2 data on a second physical data channel, wherein the receiving and processing of the first Layer 2 data comprises the use of soft HARQ combining and wherein the receiving and processing of the second Layer 2 data comprises no soft HARQ combining. Variants of this method, corresponding apparatuses, and corresponding network-side methods and apparatuses are also disclosed.
