摘要: Cellular mobile networks can include unlicensed-radio access networks, which comprise access point controllers (303) connected via a fixed broadband network (302) to access points (301) that communicate with mobile stations (1) via unlicensed radio. The access points are connected to the broadband network from any location by the subscriber. In order to alleviate the configuration required to enable handover each access point controller is assigned to a location area defined in the conventional cellular network. A mobile station entering the mini-cell of an access point sends the access point information concerning the location area for the last cell of conventional network it communicated with. With this information, the access point obtains from a memory (40) the fixed broadband address of the access point controller assigned to this location area. The access point uses this address to establish a connection with the access point controller assigned to handle its current location.

摘要: Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes receiving a downlink signal comprising an uplink access configuration index, using the uplink access configuration index to identify an uplink access configuration from among a predetermined plurality of uplink access configurations, and transmitting to the wireless communications network according to the identified uplink access configuration. The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving, in a first downlink subframe, a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing, OFDM, transmission formatted according to a first numerology and receiving, in a second downlink subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology, the second numerology differing from the first numerology, where the first numerology has a first subcarrier spacing and the second numerology has a second subcarrier spacing, the first subcarrier spacing differing from the second subcarrier spacing. The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving and processing first Layer 2 data on a first physical data channel and receiving and processing second Layer 2 data on a second physical data channel, wherein the receiving and processing of the first Layer 2 data comprises the use of soft HARQ combining and wherein the receiving and processing of the second Layer 2 data comprises no soft HARQ combining. Variants of this method, corresponding apparatuses, and corresponding network-side methods and apparatuses are also disclosed.

A mobile station entering the mini-cell of an access point uses an indication of the location area for the last cell of a conventional network it communicated with to query a lookup table (which may be a DNS server) for the address of an access controller assigned to this location area. The mobile station then establishes a connection with the access controller to enable communication with a core network portion of the conventional network.

摘要: A fifth-generation wireless communications network includes a server node, radio network equipment and a wireless device. This causes the wireless device to (v) receive from the radio network equipment, in a first downlink subframe, a first OFDM transmission formatted according to a first numerology and carrying the second user data, and (vi) receive from the radio network equipment, in a second downlink subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology and carrying the third user data, wherein the numerologies have different subcarrier spacings.

The wireless device is connected to a first network element over at least a first and a second wireless link. The methods further include evaluating the measurement or the demodulated and decoded information for each of the plurality of resources against a predetermined criterion, and then discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements, or discontinuing the demodulating and decoding and evaluation of information, in response to determining that the predetermined criterion is met, such that one or more resources in the predetermined set of resources are neither measured nor demodulated and decoded. The methods further comprise deactivating receiver circuitry, further in response to determining that the predetermined criterion is met. The method further comprises receiving, in a first downlink subframe, a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing transmission formatted according to a first numerology and receiving, in a second downlink subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology, the second numerology differing from the first numerology.
