摘要: A wireless device (100), a network node (102), a core node (104) and methods therein, for managing reachability of the wireless device. The wireless device (100) starts an AS (Access Stratum) reachable timer when entering an inactive state. If the AS reachable timer expires while still in the inactive state, the wireless device (100) sends to the network node (102) a reachable notification indicating that the wireless device (100) is reachable. If entering a connected state before the AS reachable timer expires, the wireless device (100) stops the AS reachable timer when changing from the inactive state to a connected state. If the core node (104) receives from the network node (102) a not reachable notification indicating that the wireless device (100) is not reachable, the wireless device (100) can be marked as not reachable via paging.

摘要: The embodiments herein relate to methods and functions for handling a user equipment, UE, that is in an idle state with respect to at least one access type e.g., 3GPP access or non-3GPP access. According to an embodiment, an Access and mobility Management Function, AMF, receives from a Session Management Function, SMF, a request to establish User Plane, UP, for a UE's PDU session, wherein the request comprises information indicating a preferred access type. According to another embodiment, an SMF receives from a User Plane Function, UPF, a notification that the UPF is buffering downlink data for a UE's PDU sessions; and in response to the notification sent by the UPF, the SMF sends to an AMF, serving the UE, a request to establish User Plane, UP, for the PDU session, wherein the request comprises information indicating a preferred access type. According to a further embodiment, a UE receives a page message, wherein the page message is configured to trigger the UE to make a Service Request, SR, over non-3GPP access; and the UE, in response to receiving the page message, performs a Service Request procedure over non-3GPP access if non-3GPP access is available.

摘要: The invention concerns a system in which a terminal (702, 1300) and a communication network (110) are arranged to support a radio resource control suspend operation and a radio resource control resume operation. A method of radio resource control in a communication network (110) entity designed for supporting a communication between a terminal and a communication network (110) that comprises the communication network entity (701, 901, 1200) is proposed. Communication between the communication network (110) and the terminal (702, 1300) is carried over one or more radio resources. The method comprises performing an admission control process during the radio resource control resume operation, where the admission control process comprises a procedure for examining whether the connected state is to be resumed according to the stored radio resource configuration information or if a radio resource reconfiguration procedure is to be performed for resuming the connected state.
