The embodiments herein relate to methods and functions for handling a user equipment, UE, that is in an idle state with respect to at least one access type e.g., 3GPP access or non-3GPP access. According to an embodiment, an Access and mobility Management Function, AMF, receives from a Session Management Function, SMF, a request to establish User Plane, UP, for a UE's PDU session, wherein the request comprises information indicating a preferred access type. According to another embodiment, an SMF receives from a User Plane Function, UPF, a notification that the UPF is buffering downlink data for a UE's PDU sessions; and in response to the notification sent by the UPF, the SMF sends to an AMF, serving the UE, a request to establish User Plane, UP, for the PDU session, wherein the request comprises information indicating a preferred access type. According to a further embodiment, a UE receives a page message, wherein the page message is configured to trigger the UE to make a Service Request, SR, over non-3GPP access; and the UE, in response to receiving the page message, performs a Service Request procedure over non-3GPP access if non-3GPP access is available.

The invention relates to methods and devices for enabling relocation of Access and Mobility Management Functions (AMFs). In an aspect of the invention a method performed by a Non-3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Interworking Function (14, N3IWF) enabling a wireless communication device (10) to attach to a core network (100) over non-3GPP access, to facilitate re-location of the wireless communication device (10) from an Access and Mobility Management Function (13, AMF) currently serving the wireless communication device (10) over non-3GPP access to the core network (100), to a target AMF (21) which is to serve the wireless communication device (10) over 3GPP access to the core network (100). The method comprises receiving (S119a), from the target AMF (21), a request to redirect any further signalling of the wireless communication device (10) from the currently serving AMF (13) to the target AMF (21); and redirecting any signalling of the wireless communication device (10) to the target AMF (21).

Disclosed herein is a method performed by an AMF entity 1100 in a Visited Public Land Mobile Network, VPLMN, entity serving a roaming UE 112, the method comprises: obtaining NN102, by the AMF entity, a subscribed UE-AMBR for the UE; sending XX102, XX200, XX304, by the AMF entity, an Access Management, AM, Policy request message towards a Visited Policy Control Function, V-PCF, entity 1200 in the VPLMN to establish or update an AM Policy for the roaming UE; receiving XX104, XX204, XX306 by the AMF entity in response to sending the AM Policy request message, an AM Policy response message sent by the V-PCF entity and comprising Access and mobility related policy information that includes a serving network UE-AMBR for the UE decided by the V-PCF entity; and deploying XX106, XX206, XX308 the serving network UE-AMBR instead of the subscribed UE-AMBR by sending the policy control information including the determined UE-AMBR to a RAN node in the serving network.
摘要:
Disclosed is a method and access management entity for selecting a session management (SM) entity for serving a wireless communication device (WCD) in a core network that comprises an access management entity serving the WCD and an anchor SM entity that controls a first user plane entity that handles a data session associated with the WCD in a first domain, and a second SM entity for controlling a second user plane entity in a second domain of the core network. The method is performed by the access management entity and comprises: selecting - based on WCD information indicating properties of the WCD and based on SM domain information at least indicating the user plane entities that are controlled by the first SM entity and the second SM entity respectively - the second SM entity as an additional intermediate SM entity to control a user plane entity in the second domain for handling the data session in the second domain; sending, towards the second SM entity, a session request message requesting the second SM entity to act as the additional intermediate SM by allocating resources for handling the data session in the second domain; and receiving, in response to the session request message, a session response message indicating that the second SM entity has accepted to act as the additional intermediate SM entity.

The present invention relates to a solution for handling deferred leg linking in policy and charging rules function in a telecommunications network in relation to handover between two different access technologies. The solution is provided as a nodes, system and a method for handling handover of a user equipment, i.e. UE, (101) in a telecommunications network (100) from one access technology to another access technology, comprising the steps of detecting (203) in a target access gateway, i.e. AGW, (102) that a handover state of the UE is unknown, sending (204) from the target access gateway a gateway control session, i.e. GCS, establishment message to a policy and charging rules function node (105), wherein the message comprise an indication that leg linking of a session is to be deferred until reception of corresponding control signalling from a packet data network gateway (104).
