    摘要: There is provided a method, performed by a network node, for enabling uplink power control in a wireless network. The method comprises assigning (S1) a transmit power for downlink transmission of a reference signal, wherein the reference signal is to be used for power control of at least one uplink transmission. The method further comprises determining (S2) a reference signal transmit power parameter providing a fictitious value for the transmit power of the reference signal that is different from the assigned transmit power. The method also comprises transmitting (S3) the reference signal transmit power parameter to at least one wireless device to enable the wireless device(s) to perform transmit power determination for the uplink transmission(s) at least partly based on the fictitious value for the transmit power of the reference signal.

    摘要: In a broadband access network multiple end users (10) connected to access nodes (201) are linked to multiple service providers (30) connected to an edge node (202). Packet transmitted across the network contain a quality of service identifier specifying a relative QoS or priority or an absolute QoS, defining minimum quality of service parameters required for handling the packet. The access network is preferably divided into separate virtual local area networks (VLANs) providing separate broadcast domains for the various end users. Each packet transmitted on the access network is VLAN-tagged with QoS identifier contained in this tag. When an access node or edge node receives an incoming data unit that specifies an absolute quality of service, the node determines that there is sufficient bandwidth through the access network to the destination node by querying other nodes in the network directly or indirectly through a bandwidth broker (203) before accepting the service and transmitting the packet.

    摘要: An admission control process in an Ethernet-based access network (10) having both active links and idle backup links (14a-14c). When a service request is received in an access node (11 a-11f), the process searches for a path of links to an access edge node (13) with sufficient bandwidth to serve the service request. Active links are searched first. If a path of active links with sufficient bandwidth cannot be found, and the service is a unicast request, the process searches for a path that utilizes at least one idle backup link and has sufficient bandwidth to serve the service request.
