The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing customized absorbent hygiene articles, the absorbent hygiene articles comprising an absorbent core (7), a topsheet (8), and a backsheet (9), the method comprising the steps of: a) providing a set of choices designed to allow a consumer to specify the customized absorbent hygiene article; b) receiving a selection from the consumer among the set of choices; c) manufacturing the customized absorbent hygiene article; and d) distributing the customized absorbent hygiene article to the consumer;
wherein the set of choices is selected from the group consisting of: the material specification of the topsheet (8) and/or the backsheet (9); the absorbent capacity, absorbency profile, and/or shape of the absorbent core (7); the material specification and/or design of leg cuffs (25); the material specification and/or design of waist bands or waist elastics; the material specification and/or design of fastening members (22) or elastic side panels; the material specification and/or design of a raised barrier for fecal control; selection of a lotion applied to the topsheet (8) or to the leg cuff (25); and combinations thereof.

The present disclosure is directed, in part, to an absorbent article comprising a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned at least partially intermediate the liquid permeable topsheet and the liquid impermeable backsheet. The absorbent article may comprise a substantially laterally-extending separation element defining a visual front portion and a visual back portion on a wearer-facing surface of the absorbent article. The liquid permeable topsheet may comprise a first zone in the visual front portion that comprises a first geometric treatment and a second zone in the visual back portion that comprises a second geometric treatment.
Abstract:
Absorbent structures (13) for absorbent articles are provided, comprising an absorbent layer (17) with absorbent material (50) containing superabsorbent polymer particles supported by a supporting sheet (16), and having first and a second substantially longitudinal channels (26) that are free of said superabsorbent polymeric particles, and that comprises one or more adhesive material to immobilize said absorbent material (50). The two channels are curved or angled are mirror images of one another in the longitudinal axis. The channels can provide improved fit and/ or liquid acquisition/ transportation, and/ or improved performance.
