Abstract: A color production structure includes an uneven structure layer and a multilayer film layer. The uneven structure layer has an uneven structure on a surface thereof, the uneven structure including a plurality of uneven elements. The multilayer film layer is a laminated film on the uneven structure and has a surface shaped to conform to the uneven structure, the multilayer film layer configured such that reflected light enhanced by interference emerges from the multilayer film layer. Each of the uneven elements has a longitudinal width and a lateral width in plan view along a thickness direction of the uneven structure layer, each of the longitudinal width and lateral width of the respective uneven elements having a value within a range from 10 µm to 100 µm inclusive. Each of the uneven elements has a dimension in the thickness direction of the uneven structure layer, the dimension of each uneven element continuously increasing from the peripheral edge to the center thereof in the plan view. A ratio of a maximum value of the dimension of each of the uneven elements to the lateral width thereof is set to be within a range from 0.1 to 1.0 inclusive.

Abstract: A display that can be produced by a simple process and has high designability is prepared. The display includes a plurality of display elements. The display elements are each composed of an uneven layer having an uneven structure and a multilayer film layer provided on the uneven structure. A pattern formed by convexities can be divided into shape elements each arranged in each of a plurality of virtual rectangles, when viewed from a direction facing the uneven layer, and each of the shape elements arranged in each of the virtual rectangles is inscribed in the rectangle in which the shape element is arranged. The plurality of virtual rectangles each have sides along a first direction and sides along a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, and a length of the side along the first direction is less than or equal to a sub wavelength. When an angle formed by an arrangement direction of the rectangles which specify a plurality of shape elements forming one convexity and sides along the first direction Dx of the plurality of rectangles is θ, the angle θ is constant within each of the display elements. In at least one display element, the angle θ is greater than 0° and less than 90°, or greater than 90° and less than 180°.
