摘要： A knee protecting airbag device comprises an airbag (55), an inflator (47), a case (13) and an airbag cover (30) to be assembled with the case. The case houses the airbag and the inflator, and is fixed to the side of the vehicular body with its rear side open. The airbag cover (30) includes a door (44) and a general portion (31) around the door. The door closes the opening of the case and opens when the airbag expands and inflates. The general portion (31) is surrounded by interior members of the vehicle when mounted on the vehicle. The knee protecting airbag device is mounted on the vehicle in an assembled state in which the airbag (55), the inflator (47) and the airbag cover (30) are joined to the case (13). The airbag cover is joined to the case in a movable manner so as to absorb the dimensional inconsistency between itself and the surrounding interior members.

摘要： A car interior part, to which an air bag device can be assembled, comprises an interior part main body portion and a cover portion for an air bag. In the periphery of the back surface of the cover portion, there is formed an angular-shaped mounting wall which can be connected to the air bag device. The mold releasing direction of the interior part main body portion is set as a direction which crosses the developing direction of an air bag. At least one of front and rear mounting walls formed in the mounting wall is or are formed in the same direction as the mold releasing direction of the interior par main body portion and, in the portion of the rear mounting wall that is situated upwardly of the mounting portion of the rear mounting wall, there is formed an integral hinge portion, whereby the mounting portion of the rear mounting wall is fixed to the air bag device while it is folded at the integral hinge portion thereof.

摘要： A knee protecting airbag device is described in which a folded airbag 540 is housed in a case 113C and arranged in front and below the knees of a seated passenger. When an inflating gas from an inflator is fed to the airbag 540, it is so expanded that it rises rearward of the vehicle from an opening in the case to protect the knees of the passenger. The airbag 540 having completed its inflation is constructed such that the film length of the whole periphery of the airbag positioned along the edge of the open end of the case is larger than the length L of the whole periphery of the edge of the opening of the case 113C. When the airbag is completely inflated, the airbag 540 is forcedly contacts the edge of the open end 118e of the case 113 C so as to form wrinkles in the inflated airbag which stabilize the airbag's position.

摘要： A car interior part (12), to which an air bag device (58) can be assembled, comprises an interior part main body portion (14) and a cover portion (16) for an air bag (62).
