    摘要: A print head is disclosed for use in a marking apparatus in which a propellant stream (A) is passed through a channel (34) and directed toward a substrate (38). Marking material (28), such as ink, toner, etc., is controllably introduced into the propellant stream and imparted with sufficient kinetic energy thereby to be made incident upon the substrate (38). A multiplicity of channels (38) for directing the propellant and marking material allow for high throughput, high resolution marking. Multiple marking materials (28C,28M,28Y,28K) may be introduced into the channel (34) and mixed therein prior to being made incident on the substrate (38), or mixed or superimposed on the substrate (38) without re-registration.

    摘要: A raster scanning system (ROS) of a xerographic printing device, the location of an apparent source (102) of the light beam is adjusted within a light emitting apparatus to enable spot position control anywhere along a scanline to insure subline registration of an image. This is accomplished by placing the apparent source location (102) of the light emitting apparatus on a movable plate (108). The apparent source is located at the position from which a light beam is emitted from an output end of a laser source (104) or waveguide connected to the laser source (104). The movable plate (108) is adjusted by actuators (110, 111) which may be comb drives, thermal bimorphs or piezoelectric drive mechanisms.

    摘要: A method and system for masking a surface to be etched is described. A droplet source ejects droplets of a masking material for deposit on a thin-film or other substrate surface to be etched. The temperature of the thin-film or substrate surface is controlled such that the droplets rapidly freeze upon contact with the thin-film or substrate surface. The thin-film or substrate is then etched. After etching the masking material is removed.
