    摘要： The present invention provides an electrophoretic display device (65), comprising a multiplicity of individual reservoirs (61) containing a display medium (60) between conductive substrates (56), at least one of which is transparent, wherein the display medium comprises one or more set of colored particles in a dielectric fluid, wherein the display medium has an electrical conductivity of about 10 -11 to about 10 -15 S/m, and wherein the multiplicity of individual reservoirs are defined by a unitary grid whose walls segregate the reservoirs. The invention further provides a method of forming an electrophoretic display device (65), comprising forming a mold having a grid pattern defining individual reservoirs; forming a master stamp in the mold, and removing the master stamp from the mold; forming a grid by filling the master stamp with a material of the grid; and filling a multiplicity of the individual reservoirs (61) of the grid with a display medium (60) comprised of one or more set of colored particles in a dielectric fluid and locating the grid between conductive substrates (56). Moreover, the invention provides a method of forming an electrophoretic display device (65), comprising forming a film comprised of a material of a grid; exposing the film through a photomask and developing the film to achieve a grid having a desired grid pattern defining individual reservoirs; adhering the grid to a conductive substrate; and filling a multiplicity of the individual reservoirs of the grid with a display medium comprised of one or more set of colored particles in a dielectric fluid and adhering an additional conductive substrate to an open side of the grid.

    摘要： Provided is a method of driving an electrophoretic display device to display an image; the device is comprised of at least one display layer, including a multiplicity of individual reservoirs (30,31,32) containing a display fluid, between conductive substrates (10,20), at least one of which is transparent, wherein the display fluid comprises at least two sets of particles in a liquid medium, the at least two sets of particles each exhibiting a different color, the method comprising the steps of
    charging each of the sets of differently colored particles to have a different charge through application of a charging electric field to the display fluid or the device; and
    applying an electric field to selected ones of the multiplicity of reservoirs (30,31,32) to effect movement of one or more of the differently colored sets of particles in the display fluid therein to display a desired color derived from among the sets of differently colored particles.
