A rubber composition comprising a rubber component containing a diene polymer rubber having primary amino groups and silica. The polymer rubber is prepared by the reaction of a diene polymer having an active metal atom bonded to the polymer molecule with an N-unsubstituted aziridine compound. Advantageously the rubber composition is produced by mixing the rubber component with silica and adding additives other than the silica to the resultant mixture. The obtained composition is excellent in rebound resilience, tensile properties and wear resistance.

A resin modifier comprising a conjugated diene homo- or copolymer in which the cis-bond units account for 40 % or more of the conjugated diene monomer units, the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) is 20,000 to 10,000,000, and the ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) to the number-average molecular weight (Mn) and the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) satisfy the following relationship: log(Mw/Mn)∫0.162xlog(Mw)-0.682. A resin composition (i) obtained by compounding a resin ingredient with the resin modifier and a polyaromatic vinyl resin composition (ii) obtained by polymerizing an aromatic vinyl monomer in the presence of the resin modifier are satisfactory in low-temperature impact resistance and gloss and have an excellent balance therebetween.
