摘要： The present invention discloses a method of treating a head and neck cancer or preventing the development of pre-malignant lesions to this cancer, by administering locally to the oral cavity, a sustained release drug delivery system comprising a drug for the treatment of this cancer or for the prevention of said lesions, and at least one polymer, such that said system is attached to a surface in the oral cavity and remains attached thereto for at least 1 hour, accompanied by release of the drug and maintaining an effective therapeutic concentration thereof in the cavity, for at least 1 hour. Further are disclosed a sustained release drug delivery system and a liquid precursor varnish composition to this system.

摘要： Novel agents exhibiting anti-biofilm formation activity while being non-cytotoxic are provided, as well as methods of using the same, either per se or conjugated to a polymer, for preventing and/or reducing the formation of microbial biofilms and/or for disrupting microbial biofilms. The novel agents described herein include thiazolidine-2,4-diones (TZDs), pyrrolidine-2,5-diones (PYDs), imidazolidine-2,4-diones or oxazolidine-2,4-diones, substituted by an alkyl having 7-20 carbon atoms in its backbone chain.

摘要： The present invention discloses a liquid precursor composition adapted for application on a on a desired surface, this composition comprising : a. at least one therapeutic agent suitable for the treatment or prevention of a disorder or pathological condition, wherein said disorder or pathological condition excludes oral disorders, b. at least one acidic-pH sensitive polymer, c. at least one hydrophobic polymer, and d. a pharmaceutically acceptable volatile solvent, wherein a weight ratio between the at least one hydrophobic polymer and the at least one acidic -pH sensitive polymer is larger than 1.
