The main body preferably has a semicircular plate shape or hemispherical shape. The optical element (10) further comprises a flange portion provided to a diameter portion of the main body having the semicircular plate shape. A sample container comprising the optical element attached to an inner surface is claimed. An immersion transmission measurements method comprising: attaching the optical element, emitting irradiation from outside the sample container, and receiving return light passing through the gap.
