摘要： Die Erfindung betrifft eine Zusammensetzung enthaltend ein Acetal eines aldehydischen Gerbstoffs zum Gerben von Häuten und/oder Fellen sowie ein Verfahren zur Gerbung von Häuten und/oder Fellen zur Herstellung von Leder, wobei ein Acetal eines aldehydischen Gerbstoffes verwendet wird. Durch Absenken des pH-Wertes kann der aldehydische Gerbstoff freigesetzt werden, wodurch ein Gerbungsschritt eingeleitet wird. Die erfindungsgemäße Zusammensetzung und das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren zeichnen sich durch eine geringere Toxizität gegenüber konventionellen Zusammensetzungen und Gerbungsverfahren aus, die auf aldehydischen Gerbstoffen beruhen. Ferner ist eine verbesserte Penetration der Gerbstoffe in tiefere Schichten der Haut und/oder des Felles möglich, so dass eine besonders homogene Gerbung erreicht wird.
