    摘要： The invention relates to work-place furniture comprising a frame which supports furniture platforms. Said frame consists of two vertical supports placed at a distance from one another which are hollow and are provided at least on the two facing sides with at least two rows of attachment slots, into which stirrup-shaped connecting elements comprising attachment hooks of crossmembers can engage, whereby the crossmember is connected to a furniture platform. Highly resilient storage and bearing platforms can thus be attached to the furniture frame at varying heights. The furniture is characterised in that the underside of the furniture platform (10) is attached to two bearing arms (20, 21) which are perpendicular to the crossmember (30), said crossmember being received by an open recess (22) of the bearing arm which faces the furniture platform and being connected thereto and that the front faces of the crossmember are provided with end sections (40), in which the stirrup-shaped connecting elements (50) can be adjusted in a restricted manner in the longitudinal direction of the crossmember (30) and can be locked in place with said end sections after being attached to the supports.

    摘要： A desking system comprises substantially vertical elongate members in the form of legs (1-4) which are located at or adjacent to the corners of a desk, the legs at each end of the desk being connected by depth adjustment means in the form of plates (5, 6) which enable the depth of the desk to be adjusted. Rails (11-14) extend between the legs of the desk and are connected to the legs by upper connectors (15) and lower connectors (16). The rails may be of any desired length in order to vary the length of the desk. Support brackets (31) for a work surface (70) are engaged with the rail (11) which may be connected either to the front legs (1, 3) or the rear legs (2, 4) of the desk.

One form of engagement device comprises a hollow sleeve (1) through which a tube (31) may be passed. The hollow sleeve has a deformable flared portion (2). A further hollow sleeve member (12) is immovable on the outside of the first sleeve and has a surface (13) arranged to co-operate the flared portion to cause it to deform to grip the tube (31). A further engagement device comprises a hollow sleeve portion (100) which is distendable to grip a tube mounted on its surface. A trustoconical wedge (101) is movable within the hollow sleeve potion (100) to cause to distend. A number of engagement devices may be connected together to form coupling members for connecting tubes to form a structural frame work.

The desk is intended to save labor required by assembling and disassembling operations with component parts reduced in number necessary for connecting the top board to the leg. For satisfying the purpose, a rigid board is employed as a top board and the legs are each provided with an upwardly directed surface to be connected to the underside of the top board as well as with a rigid arm to extend along the forward edge of the top board at the upper end thereof. The top board and the leg are connected to each other through a tapered engaging part and a pawl-type engaging part. The tapered engaging part is composed so that a recessed tapered surface provided on the forward edge of the top board and a projecting tapered surface on the arm of the leg come into tight contact when the leg is slid to the user side with respect to the top board whereas the pawl-type engaging part is composed so that a hook hole provided in the underside of the top board engages with a bent nail provided on the upwardly directed surface of the leg when the leg is slid to the user side with respect to the top board. When engaging parts are all brought into engagement with each other, said arms are tightly fastened to the forward edge of the top board with fastening pieces.
