摘要: A bone reconstruction device (100, 200, 300) is provided that includes an elongated linkage (102, 202, 302) having a plurality of links (104, 204, 304). The reconstruction device further includes an adjustment assembly (120, 220, 320) that provides for adjustment of the directional and/or angular orientation of the links. The reconstruction device further includes a locking assembly (122, 222, 322) that is movable between a disengaged configuration and an engaged configuration. In the disengaged configuration, the adjustment assembly can be actuated to adjust the orientation of the links. In the engaged confirmation, the locking assembly inhibits adjustment of the orientation of the links.

摘要: A dynamic rod implantable into a patient and connectable between two vertebral anchors in adjacent vertebral bodies is provided. The dynamic rod fixes the vertebral bodies together in a dynamic fashion providing immediate postoperative stability and support of the spine. The dynamic rod comprises a first rod portion and a second rod portion connected together. The dynamic rod further includes at least a one bias element configured to provide a bias force in response to deflection or translation of the first rod portion relative to the second rod portion. The dynamic rod includes a locking construct which advantageously enables the extension and/or angulation of one rod portion with respect to the other rod portion to be reversibly locked in position. The dynamic rod permits relative movement of the first and second rod portions allowing the rod to carry some of the natural flexion and extension moments of the spine.

摘要: A spinal fixation device is provided having first and second elongate members that are angularly adjustable relative to one another. Each elongate member can include a connecting feature formed on a terminal end thereof, and each connecting feature can be coupled to one another to allow angular movement of the first and second elongate members. The device can also include a locking mechanism that is adapted to couple to the connecting feature on each of the first and second elongate members to lock the elongate members in a fixed position relative to one another.

摘要: A flexible spinal fixation element is provided that is movable between a first position, in which the spinal fixation element is adapted to be angularly manipulated, and a second, locked position, in which the spinal fixation element is aligned in a desired orientation and is immovable. The configuration of the flexible spinal fixation element can vary, but the fixation element is preferably formed from a bioimplantable member having segments or a bellows configuration that allows the fixation element to be selectively configurable between the first and second positions. In use, the flexibility of the spinal fixation element allows the fixation element to be introduced through a percutaneous access device, thereby advantageously allowing the fixation element to be implanted using minimally invasive techniques.
