摘要: An interbody spinal implant (1) having at least three distinct surfaces (10, 60a, 70a) including at least one integration surface having a roughened surface topography (80) including macro features, micro features, and nano features, without sharp teeth that risk damage to bone structures; at least one graft contact surface having a coarse surface topography including micro features and nano features; and at least one soft tissue surface having a substantially smooth surface including nano features. Also disclosed are processes of fabricating the different surface topographies, which may include separate macro processing, micro processing, and nano processing steps.

The spacer is arranged with upper and lower guides. 摘要: An orthopedic system for delivery of a therapeutic agent to a bone includes an elongate stem adapted to be inserted into an intramedullary canal, an inlet configured to receive the therapeutic agent, and one or more outlets configured to deliver the therapeutic agent to the bone. The elongate stem may comprise one or more protrusions to engage the bone, and one or more channels extending longitudinally therein, fluidly coupled to the inlet. The therapeutic agent flows from the inlet through the one or more channels and exits into the intramedullary canal through the one or more outlets. The system may be configured to allow one or more dimensions of the system to be adjusted to accommodate the anatomy of a patient.

摘要: An expandable spinal implant includes a distal projection extending from only one side of the implant, ending in an anterior tip, the anterior portion and anterior tip defining an elongated distal end hook, which is wider than the proximal end. The distal end hook rotates around the spinal cord, aligning the implant with a desired pathway, then inserts into place in the disc space between the vertebrae. The elongated widened distal end hook provides a TLIF approach, distributes loads, provides anterior rim engagement, and creates lordosis.

摘要: A femoral stem for use in hip replacement surgery, specifically hip replacement surgery in dogs and similar animals but also inclusive to implants used in humans. More particularly, the invention is directed to a femoral stem that includes a lateral bolt or post that protrudes through the cortex or wall of bone opposite the neck of the femoral stem. The lateral bolt or post reduces the occurrence of subsidence in implanted femoral stems. The lateral bolt or post provides an anchor point on the cortex or wall of bone as opposed to relying solely on the compression of the femoral stem against the wall of the bony canal of the femur being implanted.

摘要: The modular stem component (10) may include a shaft portion (12), a head (14), and a sleeve (16). The shaft portion (12) is configured for receipt within the intramedullary canal of a bone and the head (14) is configured to receive another component of a modular prosthetic system, such as a femoral neck, thereon. In one exemplary embodiment, the head extends radially around at least a portion of the stem and includes a rib (50) defining a flange (50) extending therefrom. The sleeve (16), which is formed as an independent part of the modular stem component and is made at least partially of a highly porous biomaterial, includes opposing ends (66,67) and has a bore extending therethrough. The bore is configured to facilitate sliding receipt of the sleeve on the head.

摘要: An orthopedic fastener is designed to attach an implant to bone in such a manner that, until the fastener is tightened, the implant may be rotationally adjusted against the bone. The implant may have a semispherical bone apposition surface that permits polyaxial rotation of the implant against the bone. The orthopedic fastener has an interpositional member and a compression member. The interpositional member may be a split ring with a conical exterior surface that mates with a conical surface of the implant. The compression member has a threaded bore that engages a proximal end of a fixation member implanted in the bone such that, in response to rotation of the compression member, the interpositional member is sandwiched securely between the implant and the compression member. The conical surface of the implant compresses the interpositional member about a semispherical surface of the compression member, thereby restricting rotation of the implant.
