A chordal replacement device comprising: a proximal anchor (3910), a distal anchor (3915) extending and affixed to a distal attachment site in a ventricle; and a flexible tether (3920) coupled to and tensioned between the proximal and distal anchors, wherein the proximal anchor may comprise a flexible crimp clip having one or more barbs that embed into and affix to a portion of a leaflet (LF) or a flexible patch and a leaflet attachment device, wherein the flexible patch is affixed to an upper surface of a portion of a flailing leaflet with the leaflet attachment device. The proximal anchor may also comprise a mesh stent deployable within an atrium, wherein the mesh stent is coupled to a flexible rod that extends through a valve commissure into the ventricle and wherein a distal end of a flexible rod couples to a distal anchor and provides consistent tension on the tether during a heart cycle.

The devices can include an expandable, fluid-tight bladder configured to be deployed between valve leaflets of the heart valve. The bladder can include an upper portion that extends into the atrium of the heart; a lower portion that extends into the ventricle of the heart; and a middle portion positionable within the line of valve leaflet coaptation that provides a sealing surface for one or more of the leaflets.

The present invention provides a surgical implant and method for supporting the urethra, the implant comprising a suburethral support suspended between two soft tissue anchors that do not penetrate the lower abdominal wall and are attached at either side of the sururethral support. The soft tissue anchors retain each anchor in soft tissue, suspending each side of the suburethrasl support. The suburethral support passes under the urethra to support the urethra. The implant has uses including treating urinary incontinence and uterovasginal prolapse.

An innovative bone anchor and methods for securing connective tissue, such as tendons, to bone, which permit a suture attachement that lies entirely beneath the cortical bone surface. Advantageously, the suturing material between the connective tissue and the bone anchor is secured without the need for trying a knot. The suture attachment to the bone anchor involves the looping of a length of suturing material around a self-locking wedge block in the anchor, thereby avoiding an eyelet connection which requires a kot and which concentrates stress on a very small portion of the suturing material. Thus, failure rates are greatly decreased over cnventional techniques, and the innovative procedures are significantly easier to perform than conventional techniques.
