摘要: The present application discloses a medical insertion device, comprising: a handle including an actuator; an elongated shaft extending between a proximal end coupled to the handle to a distal end, the elongated shaft having flexibility sufficient for insertion through a working channel of an endoscope along a tortuous path, the elongated shaft including and being coupled to the actuator so that actuation of the actuator rotates the elongated shaft: a coil extending from the proximal end to the distal end and having a channel extending longitudinally therethrough; and a braided portion extending around a portion of the coil, the braided portion including a plurality of lines wound together such that first and second ones of the lines intersect at crossings to enclose a predetermined angle therebetween, the angle being at least 25 degrees and less than 55 degrees, wherein each of the first and second ones of the lines includes at least one filament, a diameter of the filaments of the first one of the lines being different from a diameter of the filaments of the second one of the lines, wherein the braided portion comprising a locking pattern of braid.

摘要: A device includes a flexible insertion section extending from a distal end which, during use is inserted to a target site to a proximal end which remains outside the body; an end effector coupled to a distal end of the insertion section; and a control wire received within the insertion section and extending from a proximal end coupled to an actuator to a distal end coupled to the end effector. The control wire is movable within the insertion section to operate the end effector. The control wire and the insertion section include a bend in a distal portion thereof configured so that, in a resting state, the control wire and the insertion section bend through a predetermined arc at a selected bending radius. A distal portion of the control passes into and through a working channel of an insertion device without plastic deformation of the control wire.

摘要: An endoscopic instrument for use with a trocar, said endoscopic instrument comprising an elongate shaft body having a proximal end and a distal end; an end effector assembly at said distal end operable by manipulation of actuator mechanism at said proximal end; a substrate core having a first surface and a second surface; at least one sensing element on said first surface, said at least one sensing element located adjacent to said distal end; an electronics module for receiving sensed signals from said at least one sensing element, said electronics module located adjacent to said proximal end; a first conductive layer residing on said first surface, said first conductive layer having first solder mask coated thereon; a second conductive layer residing on said second surface, second conductive layer having a second solder mask coated thereon, and wherein said second conductive layer coupled to said at least one sensing element relays said sensed signals from said at least one sensing element to said electronics module and said a first conductive layer is grounded.
