摘要: A pre-packaged medical device includes a tray supporting a medical device such as a blood collection set including a needle assembly and a tube holder. The tray defines a first contoured portion supporting at least a portion of the needle assembly and a second contoured portion supporting the tube holder. The tray may have a tray body with a plurality of posts upstanding from a bottom wall in the first contoured portion for engaging the needle assembly. The posts may be positioned to maintain the needle assembly in a defined orientation while preventing the inadvertent actuation of the needle assembly, which may include a spring-driven safety shield. The configuration of the pre-packaged medical device allows sequential removal of the blood collection set, typically in the order of intended use including first removal of a needle assembly, second removal of tubing, and third removal of the tube holder.

摘要: A sharps bagging apparatus (10) has an access member (12) with one or more conforming openings (20,22,24,26,28,30) which conform to the profile of a retracted medical device to allow bagging collected retracted medical devices with a satisfactory degree of assurance that all or virtually all the devices are in the safe retracted condition. The access member (12) is used with a collapsible disposal bag (40) which may removably fill a disposal container (39) or in one embodiment be fixedly secured to the access member (12). The access member (12) is adapted to fit plastic or wire containers removably or lockedly. sloping sides (76,78,80) in the access member create a centering well (82) which tends to center a retracted device and may include a triggering wall which can activate the retraction mechanism of an unretracted device. When the access member (12) is provided with an attached collapsible bag (40), they can be stacked for economical transport and storage.

摘要: The present invention provides a surgical support debridement platform (10) for extremities of a human or mammal to assist a physician in treating such extremity. The platform (10) generally includes a body member (20) and a cover member (30). The body member (20) includes a bottom end and at least one side wall. The body member (20) defines an interior volume for temporarily containing fluid. At least one drainage aperture is defined within the body member (20) for draining the fluid from the interior of the body member (20). A cover member (30) includes a top end and at least one side wall. The cover member (30) and the body member (20) are releasably engaged to define an overall low profile for easier deployment under an extremity and visibility of the extremity. In operation, the extremity is positioned upon an upper surface of the cover member (30) to facilitate the process of debridement and lavage of extremities.
