More particularly, the invention relates to infant or adult diaper (10) having a longitudinal centerline (Y) and a lateral centerline (X) perpendicular to the longitudinal centerline (Y) and having a first longitudinal edge (16) and a second longitudinal side edge (18) on either side of and parallel to the longitudinal centerline (Y), wherein the diaper (10) comprises a topsheet (22) and a backsheet (24) and positioned therein between an absorbent core (20), and at least a first longitudinally extending elastic cuff (30a) positioned on one of the longitudinal sides of the topsheet (22) and on the same side than the first longitudinal side edge, and wherein the diaper (10) has a crotch region (B), positioned in between a front region (A) and a back region (C) and the first longitudinally extending elastic cuff (30a) having a crotch region (B'), positioned in between a front region (A') and a back region (C'), these regions of the longitudinally extending elastic cuffs (30a, 30b) being positioned in the respective regions of the diaper (10), and the first longitudinally extending elastic cuff (30a) having a proximal edge (32), at which the first longitudinally extending elastic cuff (30a) is attached to the diaper (10) and the first longitudinally extending elastic cuff (30a) having a distal edge (34), the distal edge (34) being attached to the diaper at at least one distal edge attachment point (48a, 48d), the crotch region (B') of distal edge (34) not being attached to the diaper (10) and forming a free flap and wherein the diaper (10) comprises a transverse separator (70) being attached to the first longitudinally extending elastic cuff (30a) at a first separator attachment point (74a), the transverse separator (70) extending in a generally transverse direction and being able to extert a force onto the first longitudinally extending elastic cuff (30a), wherein the distal edge attachment point is closer to the longitudinal edges of the diaper (10) than the first separator attachment point.

    摘要： Provided is an absorbent article which feels less restrictive when worn, and suppresses the occurrence of hot and stuffy state and rashes. This absorbent article is provided with: a sheet-type leakage-preventing body; an absorbent body, at least one layer of which is arranged on top of the leakage-preventing body, and which can absorb bodily fluids; and a pair of left and right floating leg gathers which are arranged on top of the absorbent body, extending from the front end in the longitudinal direction of the main body of the absorbent article to the rear end, traversing a front body section, a crotch part, and a rear body section. The floating leg gathers each have a top part and a trailing part which adjoins the top part. The front ends and the rear ends of the floating leg gathers are joined respectively to the vicinity of the front end and the vicinity of the rear end of the main body of the absorbent article. The trailing parts trail downwards from the top parts towards the absorbent body. At least one part of the trailing parts of the pair of left and right floating leg gathers is mutually connected in the lower end area, to form a channel for bodily fluids inside the trailing parts.

    摘要： An absorbent article, particularly a diaper, has a central absorbent unit (1) which is comprised of an elongated absorbent body (2) enclosed between a liquid-permeable inner casing sheet (3) which lies proximal to the wearer in use, and a liquid-impermeable, outer casing sheet (4) which lies distal from the wearer in use. The absorbent unit is provided along its longitudinal edges (9) with liquid-impermeable folds (6) which are upstanding from the inner casing sheet and which form side-leakage barriers. The article has a side-flap (18) on each side of the absorbent unit (1). The side-flaps (18), optionally with associated edge elastic (21, 23), are produced in the form of rectangular strips (10) completely separated from the absorbent unit (1) and are thereafter jointed thereto. A longitudinally extending edge-part (13) of each strip (10) is suitably folded double and the backwardly folded part (19) is joined to the outer casing sheet (3a, 4b or 4) of the absorbent unit (1) along a curved fastening line (21). When the diaper is to be used, the side-flaps (18) are pulled-out laterally, the length of this extension, and therewith the width of the resulting side-flaps (18), being dependent on the curved shape of the fastening line (21). It is therewith possible to produce a curved outer contour (16) of the diaper for conforming to the wearer's legs with side-flaps (18) which originally have straight edges (11, 12). The material from which the side-flaps (18) are made can be chosen quite independently of the inner and the outer casing sheets (3, 4), so as to avoid irritation of the wearer's skin while still fitting closely to the wearer's legs.
