The invention provides synergistic compositions and methods to prevent and treat dermal wounds and topical ulcers rapidly, efficaciously and economically. It comprises a synergistic combination of natural products, specifically the combination of an extract of Hydrastis canadensis , an extract of a species of the genus Panax and an extract of a Aloe barabadensis L. that are essentially free of extract of Passiflora incarnata L. The combination can be administered to wounded skin and or a wound topical cavity of a patient as a prophylactic or therapeutic dose, and may optionally be delivered by means of a wetted dressing.
