摘要: An extracorporeal blood treatment system may include a clamp coupled to a blood pathway extending between a patient and a reservoir, a sensor positioned along the blood pathway, and a control unit in communication with both the clamp and the sensor. The sensor is configured to sense a parameter of blood passing through the blood pathway and the sensor is configured to transmit a signal corresponding to the parameter to the control unit. The control unit is configured to receive the signal and transmit a signal to the clamp. The clamp is configured to receive the signal from the control unit and controllably adjust blood flow through the blood pathway in response to receiving the signal from the control unit.

摘要: A biomedical apparatus for pumping blood of a human or an animal patient through a secondary blood circuit is provided, comprising a blood pump (10), an inlet duct (11) and an outlet duct (12) for guiding blood of the patient to the blood pump (10) and back to the patient. The device further comprises a measuring device (14) for measuring a physical parameter of the heart (2) or of a blood vessel, and a controller (13) for regulating the power of the blood pump (10). The measuring device (14) is adapted to be arranged inside the heart (2) or the blood vessel, and the controller is configured to determine an estimate for an inner volume of the heart (2) or of the blood vessel based on the physical parameter and is configured to regulate the power of the blood pump (10) depending on this estimate.

摘要: [Object] Providing an extracorporeal circulation management device and so forth by which the oxygen consumption or the like in a patient regarding blood supplied from an oxygenator or the like can be correctly determined. [Solution] An extracorporeal circulation management device 10 carries out storing 52 of plural pieces of first state information of blood supplied from an oxygenator unit 2 with time-course information and plural pieces of second state information of blood introduced into the oxygenator unit with time-course information, has in-body passing time information 42, and selects the first state information and the second state information as comparison targets from the plural pieces of first state information and the plural pieces of second state information based on the in-body passing time information when comparing any of the plural pieces of first state information and any of the plural pieces of second state information.

摘要: A veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation system includes a dual lumen drainage cannula configured for withdrawing blood from a patient's vasculature in a manner that provides a perfusion of oxygenated blood with reduced carbon dioxide content while unloading the left ventricle, with two points of access to the patient's vasculature. The dual lumen drainage cannula has a first drainage tube and a second drainage tube co-axially aligned with the first drainage tube. The first and second drainage tubes are fluidly coupled to a connector. A blood pump having a pump inlet is configured for fluidly connecting with the connector, while an oxygenator having an oxygenator inlet is configured for fluidly connecting with a pump outlet. An infusion cannula is configured for fluidly connecting with an oxygenator outlet for infusing oxygenated blood into a patient's bloodstream.

摘要: An oxygen supply unit for use with a blood oxygenator comprises an oxygen concentrator and a carbon dioxide scrubber. In an on-line operational mode, oxygen-rich gas from the oxygen concentrator is predominantly supplied to the blood oxygenator with a reduced flow of recycled gas from the concentrator. In an off-line operational mode where the oxygen supply unit is being powered by battery only, a larger flow of recycled gas from the blood oxygenator is passed through the carbon dioxide scrubber and combined with a lesser amount of oxygen-rich gas from the oxygen concentrator. The oxygen supply unit may be used in combination with a blood pump and oxygenator to provide ambulatory blood oxygenation to patients with compromised lung function.
