摘要: A fluid control apparatus comprises a housing; an inlet and an outlet coupled to the housing. A first flow path and a second flow path each having a front end connected to the inlet and a back end connected to the outlet to establish fluid communication between the inlet and the outlet through the first flow path and the second flow path. A flow controller is coupled to the second flow path, and a reservoir is in fluid communication with the second flow path via the flow controller. The flow controller is operable to fill fluid from the inlet to the reservoir, and to supply fluid from the reservoir to the outlet to provide a dose of supplementary medication to a patient. The apparatus may include a flow selector coupled to the first flow path to vary the flow rate of the fluid passing through the first flow path.

摘要: A medical fluid delivery system (700) is described. The system comprises a disposable fluid flow delivery set (704) comprising a fluid flow path (708) for communicating between a source and a patient and a flow control module (706). The flow control module includes a flow valve (728) that is operably associated with the fluid flow path and moveable between a first position, which allows fluid flow through the fluid flow path, and a second position, which limits fluid flow through the fluid flow path. The system also comprises a reusable controller (702) for controlling fluid flow in the fluid flow path. The reusable controller comprises an interface station (714) for removably receiving the flow control module and that controls the valve in response to sensed flow rates of fluid flow in the fluid flow path.

摘要: A liquid medicine self-administration device including a flexible reservoir (28), an operating member (20), a pushing member (16) to move with respect to the operating member (20) and to induce pressure deformation of the reservoir (28), and engaging means (14, 66, 68, 76, 106) engages the operating member (20). With the operating member (20) engaged by the engaging means (14, 66, 68, 76, 106), the pushing member (16) is relatively moved to the operating member (20) based on restoring force of a spring member (18) to push the reservoir (28) by the pushing member (16). By disengaging means (88) moving in unison with the pushing member (16), the engaging means (14, 66, 68, 76, 106) is released from an engaged state with respect to the operating member (20), when the pushing member (16) has moved to a predetermined location while pushing the reservoir (28).

摘要: A patient care system (90) comprising an interface unit (100), an infusion pump unit (150a), and a capnography unit (150b) is disclosed. The infusion pump unit (150a) is used to administer medical fluids to a patient, including the administration of anesthethics, analgesics, or sedatives. The capnography unit (150b) provides monitoring of the patient's expired air, in particular, the end tidal CO 2 levels in the expired air and the respiration rate. When the capnography unit (150b) indicates to the interface unit that the end tidal CO 2 level and/or pulse rate has reached a point outside a specified range, the interface unit (100) initiates visual and audio alarms and controls the infusion pump unit (150a) by modifying the flow or by shutting off the pump unit. In patient controlled analgesia applications, the interface unit (100) may block patient-controlled bolus doses of the analgesic until reset by a qualified medical professional or until the measured capnography values return to a normal range. The interface unit (100) also contains communication ports, which the interface unit can use to send signals to external devices, such as to alert medical personnel.
