The spray assembly includes a connector configured for operable engagement with a first and a second source of component and a source of pressurized fluid, and a tip operably connected to the connector. The insert member includes a plurality of radially extending slots on at least one end of the insert. The plurality of radially extending slots is configured to mix the first and second components prior to the mixture exiting the opening in the tip.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for processing a substance or substance mixture which is situated in a container and rotates about the container axis, notably because of a mixing or stirring action. Owing to the disadvantages inherent in the prior art, the aim of the invention is to create a method which permits the gentle treatment of a fluid substance or substance mixture, by means of which the necessary energy can be introduced into the mixture without adversely affecting the quality thereof and which satisfactorily solves the problem of heat transfer without the need for complex technical apparatus. To this end the invention provides for substances located in the container (1) to be withdrawn from the container in the direction of their tangential speed component at a point (6) on the outer circumference of said container and to be returned to the container at a different point (12) of the container (1) in a direction of flow which is not opposite to the tangential speed component of the substances located in the container (1) at the point at which the substances are returned. The dynamic pressure difference between the withdrawal point (6) and the return point (12) in the container (1) is used to transport the substances circulating therein. Said dynamic pressure difference is obtained substantially from the tangential speed component acting at the withdrawal point (6).

    摘要: An apparatus (10) and a method for mixing or dissolving a particulate solid such as a granular chemical (12) in a liquid such as water (14) to form a liquid solution (16) of substantially homogeneous concentration. The apparatus (10) comprises a vessel (18) having an inlet (34) in fluid communication with an outlet (32). A conical frustum (24) is formed at its largest diameter end with the outlet (32). The smallest diameter end of the conical frustum (24) is downstream of the largest diameter end of the conical frustum (24). A suction line (26) connected at one end to the smallest diameter end of the conical frustum (24) is connected at an opposite end to a pump (28). A discharge line (30) is plumbed downstream from the pump (28) and connected to the vessel (18) at the inlet (34). The water (14) or solution (16) can be pumped from the outlet (32) through the conical frustum (24) and the suction line (26), by the pump (28), and discharged through the discharge line (30) to the inlet (34) and returned to the vessel (18) through a flow nozzle (22). The flow nozzle (22) comprises a tube formed in the shape of an elbow and is connected at one end to the vessel (18) at the inlet (34). The flow nozzle (22) is shaped to direct the water (14) or solution (16) in a direction which is substantially parallel to an inside surface of the vessel (18) adjacent the inlet (34) such that the water (14) or solution (16) is given a substantially circular flow (36). The method comprises recirculating water (14) through the vessel (18) via the conical frustum (24), the suction line (26), the pump (28) and the discharge line (30). The combined action of recirculation and the substantially circular flow created by the flow nozzle (22) and conical frustum (24) mixes or dissolves the granular chemical (12), for example, added to the water (14).

    摘要: There is provided an improved method for dispersing a treatment media in a body of molten metal using an impeller to disperse the media in the body of molten metal, the method producing increased shear forces in the body of molten metal and reducing vortex formation. The method comprises the steps of providing a body of molten metal and an impeller on a shaft in the body. A treatment media is added to the body and dispersed by rotating said impeller in one direction and thereafter reversing the direction of rotation of the impeller to a counter direction. The direction of rotation of the impeller is reversed periodically to substantially reduce formation of a vortex around the shaft of the impeller and to provide increased shear forces in the body for purposes of improving treatment of the molten metal by improved dispersion of the media therein.
