The present invention has as an objective to provide a new emulsification method, which can produce concentrated water-continuous emulsion containing lipophilic compounds in a dispersed phase, with a very fine dispersed phase droplet size less than a micron, and a narrow size distribution of the dispersed phase. This objective has been met by a method wherein a water-continuous emulsion is made using a Controlled Deformation Dynamic Mixer or a Cavity Transfer Mixer.

Die Aufgabe, die Bildung einer Rückströmzone im Kern des Nachlaufwirbels (11) auch unter wechselnden Strömungsbedingungen sicher zu vermeiden, wird erfindungsgemäss dadurch gelöst, dass in die Kernströmung des Nachlaufwirbels (11) gezielt ein Axialimpuls eingebracht wird. Nach einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung wird zu diesem Zweck über Austrittsöffnungen (12) am Wirbelgenerator (2) eine Sekundärströmung wenigstens annähernd in Richtung der Hauptströmung in die Kernströmung des Nachlaufwirbels (11) eingebracht.

Aluminum hydroxide aggregated particles which have an average particle diameter of not less than 40 µm, an average particle diameter as determined after pressing at 1,000 kg/cm 2 of not more than 35 µm, and an L value of slurry obtained by mixing 20 ml of glycerol and 10 g of the aluminum hydroxide aggregated particles of not more than 69, are obtained by a process comprising the steps of: (a) feeding a supersaturated aqueous sodium aluminate solution to a vessel, (b) adding aluminum hydroxide seeds to the supersaturated aqueous sodium aluminate solution, (c) stirring the seed-added solution in the vessel while continuously feeding an additional supersaturated aqueous sodium aluminate solution into the vessel to hydrolyze the supersaturated aqueous sodium aluminate solution, (d) separating the aluminum hydroxide aggregated particles from the aqueous sodium aluminate solution, and (e) continuously discharging the aqueous sodium aluminate solution out of the vessel.

Herstellen lassen sich z. B. Gemische von perfluorierten und/oder teilfluorierten Kohlenwasserstoffen und/oder Ether und/oder inerte Gase z. B. Edelgase CO 2 oder N 2 und/oder SF 6 , die beispielsweise als Isoliergas für stromleitende Erdkabel oder als Mischgase für gasisolierte Schaltungen geeignet sind. Mit dem Verfahren können große Durchflußmengen verarbeitet werden. Massendurchflußmesser sorgen für hohe Genauigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit. Offenbart wird auch eine mobile Mischstation zur Anwendung in diesem Verfahren.

A method of deriving parameters for an emulsifier for producing specific water-in-fuel emulsions consistent with emulsions produced by a reference emulsifier is disclosed herein. In a described embodiment, the emulsifier and reference emulsifier includes a desired mixing chamber and reference mixing chamber respectively for mixing fuel and water. The method comprises, at steps 602 to 604, deriving a diameter of the desired mixing chamber for the emulsifier based on a diameter of the reference mixing chamber of the reference emulsifier, the derived dimension of the desired mixing chamber being one which creates a turbulent type flow at the mixing chamber. At step 605, the method includes calculating dimensionless water particle size from the derived dimension and at step 606, deriving nozzle dimension of the emulsifier for a plurality of water nozzles for injecting the water into the oil at the mixing chamber from the calculated dimensionless water particle size. Further the method includes deriving the number of water nozzles for the emulsifier at step 607.
