摘要:
A device for dispensing molten thermoplastic material comprising a barrel member (14) having an internal melting chamber communicating with an outlet opening through a nozzle (16), and a sleeve (18) having one end secured at the barrel member (14) and a through opening communicating with the end of the melting chamber opposite the outlet opening. The sleeve (18) is adapted to receive a rod (20) of solid thermoplastic material with one end portion of the rod (20) in the melting chamber and the rod (20) projecting through the sleeve (18) along a predetermined path. the barrel member (14) is heated to melt the end portion of the rod (20) therein, and a drive (22) adapted to be switched between a deactivated state and an activated state is provided for driving the rod (20) of solid thermoplastic material into the melting chamber at a predetermined rate to expel molten thermoplastic material through the nozzle (16). Upon switching of the drive (22) from the activated state to the deactivated state the drive (22) moves the rod (20) of solid thermoplastic material a small distance out of the melting chamber to cause molten thermoplastic material in the nozzle (16) to flow toward the melting chamber and restrict movement (i.e., dripping or stringing) of that molten thermoplastic material out of the nozzle (16).

The arrangement comprises two or more channels (10) along each of which rod adhesive may be fed. To this end a common feed roller (14) is provided and, for cooperating therewith, for each channel (10) an individual feed or pressure roller (30). The pressure rollers (30) are movable, independently of each other, into and out of an operative position in which they urge the rod adhesive against the feed roller (14). By controlling the movement of the pressure rollers into and out of their operative position, the adhesive feed down each passageway (10) can be individually controlled.

A hot melt glue dispenser device (1) to dispense a continuous or interrupted melt glue wire starting from a solid glue wire (30) that is fed in input to said dispenser device, comprising a melter body (20) comprising an inner passage (21) having an inlet (22) for said solid glue wire (30), and an opposite outlet (23) for said melt glue wire, said melter body (20) having heater members to melt the solid glue wire (30) along the path between said inlet (22) and said outlet (23); a dragging mechanism (40) comprising an inner passage (47, 48) having an inlet (41) and an outlet (42) for said solid glue wire (30), said dragging mechanism being suitable to apply a dragging force to said solid glue wire (30) to transport said solid glue wire (30) from said inlet (41) to said outlet (42) through said inner passage (47,48); a connection structure to which both said melter body (20) and said dragging mechanism (40) are secured, said connection structure being configured to prevent a relative movement between said dragging mechanism (40) and said melter body (20), and vice versa; a spacer member (60) interposed between said melter body (20) and said dragging mechanism (40), defining an inner conduit (66) suitable to make the solid glue wire (30) to pass therein between the outlet (42) of the dragging mechanism and the inlet (22) of the melter body (20), said spacer member (60) having a first end (61) connected to said outlet (42) of the dragging mechanism (40), and a second end (62) connected to said inlet (22) of the melter body (20); said spacer member (60) being made of a thermally insulating material so as to prevent the heat transferring from the melter body (20) to the dragging mechanism (40); a connection structure to which both said melter body (20) and said dragging mechanism (40) are secured, said connection structure being configured to prevent a relative movement between said dragging mechanism (40) and said melter body (20), and vice versa.

摘要:
A device 1 is provided for forming a plastics weld, to repair a crack in a plastic article or join two plastics parts. The device 1 comprises a barrel 2 having an internal chamber 3. A nozzle 19 may be part of the barrel 2 and forms a restrictive orifice outlet 4. A plastics filler rod 7 can be forced by drive rolls 6a, 6b into the chamber 3 through an inlet 5. A heater coil 8 is provided to heat the barrel 2. In use, the drive rolls 6a, 6b are actuated to fill the chamber 3 with filler plastics and generate a high pressure (eg 2500 psi or 17.25 MN/m²). Concurrently, the heater coil 8 heats the plastics in the chamber 3 to a molten state. The molten plastics is forcefully ejected through the orifice outlet 4. To effect the weld, the hot tip 4 of the nozzle is buried in the workpiece and drawn along the crack; it plasticizes the weld area plastics as it moves along. At the same time, the molten filler plastic is jetted into the molten weld area plastic and forcefully intermixed therewith to generate a competent weld.
