The invention relates to an aluminum hot strip rolling train comprising a multi-stand tandem finish rolling train (2) with at least one winding reel (8) arranged downstream in the rolling direction and at least one paired cooling section (4). The aim of the invention is to provide a solution which allows cooling curves and temperature-time paths in the rolling stock to be adjusted in an improved manner during an aluminum hot strip rolling process in a tandem finish rolling train. This is achieved in that the at least one cooling section (4) is arranged in the discharge region of the aluminum hot strip rolling train, and the tandem finish rolling train (2) is paired with at least one trimmer (6) arranged downstream in the rolling direction.

A method and apparatus for manufacturing metallic strip (20) with a varying thickness is described. The metallic strip is particularly for use as part of a windscreen wiper blade assembly. Feedstock (14) having a constant thickness and width is passed in a cold condition through a pair of opposed forming rollers (16, 16) and the separation of the rollers is varied thereby deforming the feedstock in a varying manner along the length thereof to provide formed strip with a varying thickness. The rollers (16, 16) have parallel axes with one axis being fixed and the other axis being displaced back and forth. The thickness of the formed strip varies in a ratio of 3:1. The formed strip is heat treated in a varying manner. The amount of power supplied to heat the strip varies in accordance with the thickness of the strip. A preferred roller arrangement (15) has a pair of rollers with each roller being supported by bearings located intermediate its ends to provide an exposed end portion, with the rollers being offset and with the end portions overlapping. The overlapping end portions define a rolling region between them.

Walzeinheiten aufweisender Vorstraße 1, mindestens einer Zwischenstraße 2 und anschließender Fertigstraße 3 mit gegebenenfalls nachfolgendem Fertigblock 4 wird vorgeschlagen, daß der Walzenwechsel nach Maßgabe der minimierten Kaliberreihen in jedem Straßenabschnitt erfolgt, wobei der Walzenwechsel in der Vorstraße 1 mit Kranwerkzeugen l5, in der Zwischenstraße 2 mit Manipulatoren 16 und in der Fertigstraße 3 mittels Schnellwechselvorrichtungen 17 gegebenenfalls zusätzlich mittels Manipulator 16 erfolgt, wobei sämtliche Walzgerüste bzw. Walzeinheiten in den einzelnen Straßenabschnitten 1 bis 4 fliegend gelagerte, abziehbare Walzen 18, 31, 32 46 aufweisen, um die Verfügbarkeit und das Ausbringen der Walzstraße zu erhöhen.

La detection du serpentement permet d'entreprendre une action immediate de correction. Le systeme comprend un dispositif detecteur (A', B'et C') positionne le long d'un bord de la ligne sur laquelle le rouleau est traite apres que la feuille quitte les ciseaux rotatifs de decoupage (20). Le fonctionnement de ce dispositif consiste a balayer les bords de la feuille pour detecter un serpentement lateral depuis la ligne centrale des ciseaux rotatifs (20).
