An elongated spindle (30) is mounted on a frame (20) and is displaced directly above the tank (52). The spindle (30) includes on its lower end a hydraulically expandable bulb (49) which acts as a wheel clamp to releasably mount a wheel (18) to be finished onto the spindle (30). A circular plate (78) is mounted on the spindle a predetermined distance from the lower end of the spindle (30) and cooperates with a mounted wheel (18) to define a cylindrical flow channel therebetween. A motor (70) connects to the spindle (30) and operates to rotate the spindle (30) and thus the wheel (18) in the media at high speeds.

Es ist vorgesehen, daß der Behälter (5) zum Einbringen/Entnehmen des Werkstücks (20) nach oben hin offen ist, daß eine Verstelleinrichtung (3) für eine im wesentlichen vertikale Relativbewegung zwischen der Werkstück-Aufnahmeeinrichtung (13) und dem Behälter (5) zum Eintauchen des Werkstücks (20) in das beziehungsweise Herausziehen des Werkstücks (20) aus dem Schleifmittel (7) vorgesehen ist und daß mittels einer Steuereinrichtung (31) eine definierte, aus der Relativbewegung/Relativstellung zwischen Werkstück-Aufnahmeeinrichtung (13) und Behälter (5) abgeleitete Drehbewegung des Werkstückträgers (19) im Schleifmittel (7) erfolgt.
