The process of preparing a middle ear prosthesis of polymeric material by injection moulding technology according to the presented invention is characterized by drying the thermoplastic polymer granules, preferably high density polyethylene or polyamide or polysulphone, at a temperature in the range of 60 to 150° C. for a period of 2 to 8 hours. Subsequently granules are plasticized and then injected at a temperature between 180 and 400° C. into the mold heated to a temperature between 60 and 150° C. Then obtained moulder is cooled and in the final stage it is hermetically packed in a vacuum and sterilized. In addition, the granules of the thermoplastic polymer composite are used, obtained by addition of bactericidal additive introduced into the thermoplastic polymer granules, preferably a silver powder with a particle size from 15 to 100 nm, in an amount of 0.1-3 wt %.

Disclosed is an apparatus for cleaning a vulcanization die, including: a vacuum processing chamber (2); an electrode (7) arranged in the vacuum processing chamber; a high frequency power supply (10) connected to the electrode and a vulcanization die (9) placed in the vacuum processing chamber (2); and a gas introducing pipe (3) connected to the vacuum processing chamber (2), for introducing a reactive gas into the vacuum processing chamber; wherein a voltage is applied between the electrode (7) and the die (9) to generate a plasma of the reactive gas having been introduced into the vacuum processing chamber (2), and the plasma is allowed to react with an elastomer residue stuck on the surface of the die (9), thereby removing the elastomer residue by ashing. The apparatus is characterized by further including a microwave cavity resonator (12) for generating a plasma, arranged in the gas introducing pipe (3); wherein the reactive gas is excited through the plasma generated by the microwave cavity resonator (12), and is then introduced into the vacuum processing chamber (2). According to the apparatus and method thereof, an elastomer residue stuck on the surface of a vulcanization die (9) can be efficiently, certainly removed by ashing for a short period of time, with the reduced supply and discharge amounts of a reactive gas used.
