摘要: A polyester laminate for an identification document is formed from different polyester materials. One of the polyester materials, such as PCTA, provides a durability property. Another of the polyester materials, such as PETG, provides a layer having a surface with a bonding property for bonding directly to a core without adhesive. The polyester material with the bonding property is selected to enable direct bonding to a printed core layer of TESLIN or polyester through a roll to roll or platen press process.

摘要: Identification card, in particular a driving licence. On the back thereof, where the categories of vehicles to be driven are recorded, an additional security means is provided to prevent said categories from being imperceptibly ^altered. This security means consists of a series of cylindrical lenses located next to one another. Therebelow is provided a laser- writable layer wherein the relevant categories may be written. Below said laser-writable layer or at the same level there is attached a series of lines. The lines are attached with a frequency equal to, or a whole number of times less or greater than, the lens diameter. On tilting of the card thus obtained and, more particularly, the back thereof and the portion configured in the above-described manner, a moire pattern of the relevant lines is produced for the user but the information relating to the category of vehicles to be driven remains in the stationary position.

摘要: A method of producing a security document or article including a substrate (100), which is transparent at least to visible light, and a diffractive optical microstructure (112). The method includes applying an opacifying layer (102) to at least one surface of the transparent substrate (100). An area of the opacifying layer (102) is exposed to laser radiation (108) to a~ ate apertures (110) in selected portions of the opacifying layer (102), thereby forming a diffractive optical microstructure (112) on the surface of the substrate (100). The laser radiation may be patterned prior to exposing the opacifying layer (102), for example by passing the radiation through a mask (104). Alternatively, a focussed or collimated laser beam (206) may be directed onto the selected portions of the opacifying layer (102). Laser radiation may be directed onto the opacifying layer (102) either directly, or through the transparent substrate (100). Security documents or articles made in accordance with the method are also provided.

When reading, information with regard to the fingerprints of the holder of this identity document can be obtained. The identity document is so designed that complete perfect fingerprints cannot remain on the identity document itself. This is achieved by providing the identity document with a ripple structure (17, 20, 21), wherein the distance (9) between two adjacent raised parts of the ripple structure is 800 - 1400 μ m.
