Abstract:
A high pressure melamine plant comprising a synthesis section and a melamine purification section, wherein the synthesis section provides a first melamine-containing stream (6), and said melamine purification section comprises: a quencher (2) receiving said first melamine-containing stream (6) from the synthesis section; a stripper (3) fed with a second melamine-containing stream (7) from said quencher (2), wherein purified melamine (11) is collected and vapours (10) are extracted; a heat exchanger (12), wherein said vapours (10) are condensed providing a condensed stream (14); an absorber (4) fed with said condensed stream (14) providing an aqueous solution (15) comprising ammonia and carbon dioxide, at least a portion (15b) of said aqueous solution being exported from the purification section (200) of the plant.
Abstract:
The invention relates to methods for cooling a melamine melt using water and aqueous solutions. The invention can be used in industrial production of melamine. The method for cooling a melamine melt involves cooling a melamine melt with water to temperature of 130-230°C in a cooling zone, with evaporation of water and formation of solid melamine-water vapour gaseous suspension. Melamine is removed from the cooling zone in form of solid melamine-water vapour gaseous suspension. Before removal from the cooling zone, nitrogen, air or a mixture thereof can be added to the formed solid melamine-water vapour gaseous suspension. The technical result which can be achieved using the invention is lowering degree of hydrolysis of melamine when cooling melamine melt with water as well as a simplification of the process.
Abstract:
A reactor and associated process for the high-pressure synthesis of melamine from urea, comprising a primary step of conversion of the urea into crude melamine inside a first chamber delimited by a shell inside a reactor body and a secondary step of stripping said crude melamine melt inside a second reaction chamber, which is coaxial with and situated outside said first chamber, inside the same reactor body.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the production of melamine by reaction of urea in the presence of a solid catalyst in one or more serial reactors in the temperature range 370 °C to 430 °C, cooling and filtering the gases produced in the urea reaction, separation of the melamine by desublimation and recycling a part of the gases produced after separation of the melamine ('recycle gas') into the reactor or reactors, characterised in that all given steps are carried out at a pressure in the range 4 bar to 10 bar.
Abstract:
In a gas scrubber (10), a gas stream (27) containing at least one sublimated substance is brought into contact with a liquid or melt stream which contains at least one thermally convertible substance (8) and has a lower temperature than the gas stream. For intensive and intimate mixing of the gas stream with the liquid stream or melt stream, in the upper part of the gas scrubber (10) there is provided a perforated plate (38) having a plurality of holes (39) each surrounded by a throttling rim (40) and above the perforated plate feeds are provided for the gas stream (27) and the liquid or melt stream (8).
