are prepared, and wherein R 1 is hydrogen or an alkyl group containing from one to four carbon atoms, R 2 is hydrogen, alkyl containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, or a chlorinated, brominated, orfluorinated alkyl group containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R 3 is hydrogen, alkyl containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, or a chlorinated, brominated, or fluorinated alkyl group containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R 4 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, and n is from one to four, with the proviso that R 2 and R 3 on adjacent carbon atoms are not both alkyl or chlorinated, brominated, or fluorinated alkyl. These unsaturated isocyanurates may be homopolymerized or copolymerized with ethylenically unsaturated compounds to form isocyanurate polymers having excellent physical properties at high temperatures.

The inventions describe disclosed and described herein relate to ambipolar small molecule host materials for guest phosphorescent metal complexes. Methods of making the ambipolar small molecules are also described. These ambipolar small molecules, which comprise both an oxadiazole and one or more carbazole groups, can be used to make the emission layers of unexpectedly efficient OLED devices containing the materials of the inventions, wherein (I) at least one of the R 1 , R 2 and R 3 groups is an optionally substituted carbazole group.
