Systems and methods are provided for sidestream mixing. The system may include a first junction formed from a plurality of conduits. The plurality of conduits may include a first conduit fluidly coupled to a compressor, the first conduit forming a first conduit diameter and configured to flow therethrough a first process fluid stream of a plurality of process fluid streams. The plurality of conduits may also include a second conduit fluidly coupled to the first conduit and the compressor, and configured to flow therethrough a second process fluid stream of the plurality of process fluid streams. The first junction may be disposed a first distance at least three times the first conduit diameter upstream of the compressor, such that the first process fluid stream and the second process fluid stream are mixed and form a first combined process fluid stream prior to being fed into and pressurized in the compressor.

A process and an apparatus are disclosed for the recovery of propane, propylene, and heavier hydrocarbon components from a hydrocarbon gas stream in a compact processing assembly. The gas stream is cooled, expanded to lower pressure, and supplied as the bottom feed to an absorbing means inside the processing assembly. A first distillation liquid stream is collected from the lower region of the absorbing means and supplied as the top feed to a mass transfer means inside the processing assembly. A first distillation vapor stream is collected from the upper region of the mass transfer means and cooled sufficiently to at least partially condense it, forming a residual vapor stream and a condensed stream. The condensed stream is supplied as the top feed to the absorbing means. A second distillation vapor stream is collected from the upper region of the absorbing means and directed into one or more heat exchange means inside the processing assembly to heat it while cooling the first distillation vapor stream. The heated second distillation vapor stream is combined with any of the residual vapor stream and the combined stream is directed into the one or more heat exchange means inside the processing assembly to heat it while cooling the gas stream. A second distillation liquid stream is collected from the lower region of the mass transfer means and directed into a heat and mass transfer means inside the processing assembly to heat it and strip out its volatile components. The quantities and temperatures of the feeds to the absorbing means are effective to maintain the temperature of the upper region of the absorbing means at a temperature whereby the major portions of the desired components are recovered in the stripped second distillation liquid stream.

A fuel cell system is provided. The fuel cell system includes a source of fuel, and a fuel desulfurization system fluidly coupled to the source of fuel to receive the fuel in a gaseous phase. The fuel desulfurization system includes a fuel condenser that condenses at least a portion of the fuel from the gaseous phase to a liquid phase. The fuel cell system includes a reformer fluidly coupled to the fuel desulfurization system that receives the fuel from the fuel desulfurization system in the liquid phase to generate hydrogen enriched fuel and a fuel cell stack fluidly coupled to the reformer to receive the hydrogen enriched fuel.

A method to recover olefins and C2+ fractions from refineries gas streams. The traditional recovery methods employed at refineries are absorption with solvents and cryogenic technology using compression and expansion aided by external refrigeration systems. In contrast to known methods, there is provided first a pre-cooling heat exchanger on a feed line feeding the gas stream to a in-line mixer, secondly by injecting and mixing a stream of LNG to condense the C2+ fractions upstream of the fractionator. The temperature of the gas stream entering the fractionator is monitored downstream of the in-line mixer. A LNG stream is temperature controlled to flow through the injection inlet and mix with the feed gas at a temperature which results in the condensation of the C2+ fractions before entering the fractionator. A LNG reflux stream is temperature controlled to maintain fractionator overhead temperature. The fractionator bottoms temperature is controlled by a circulating reboiler stream.

A mixed phase unstabilized hydrocarbon stream is created by partially evaporating an unstabilized hydrocarbon condensate stream, including indirectly heat exchanging the unstabilized hydrocarbon condensate stream against an effluent stream in a feed-effluent heat exchanger. The mixed phase unstabilized hydrocarbon stream is fed into a stabilizer column. A liquid phase of stabilized hydrocarbon condensate is discharged from a bottom end, while an overhead vapour stream consisting of a vapour phase comprising volatile components from the unstabilized hydrocarbon condensate stream is discharged from a top end of the stabilizer column. The overhead vapour stream is passed through an overhead condenser. The resulting partially condensed overhead stream is separated in an overhead separator into a vapour effluent stream and an overhead liquid stream. The effluent stream against which the unstabilized hydrocarbon condensate stream is heat exchanged in the feed-effluent heat exchanger comprises the vapour effluent stream.

A mixture of hydrocarbons in vapour phase is passed through a feed scrubber. Feed scrubber vapour discharged from the feed scrubber is passed to a compression suction scrubber, and a vaporous compressor feed stream from the compression suction scrubber is compressed in a compressor train. A compressed vaporous discharge stream from the train of compressors is de-superheated, and at least a portion of the de-superheated stream is passed to a condenser, wherein this portion of the de-superheated stream is at least partly condensed to form a pressurized and at least partially condensed mixture of hydrocarbons. A recycle portion is split off from the de-superheated hydrocarbon stream, and a recycle flow is established to the compressor train of via a surge recycle separator drum and the compression suction scrubber. Liquid constituents removed and drained from the recycle portion in the surge recycle separator drum are fed to the feed scrubber.

Bei einem Verfahren zum Aufbereiten von hochstickstoffhaltigem Erdgas, das Gehalte an Schwefel und höheren Kohlenwasserstoffen aufweist, wird das Erdgas durch mindestens eine Einrichtung (2, 3, 22) zur Druckabsenkung geleitet. Um derartiges Erdgas wirtschaftlich aufbereiten und einsetzen zu können, wird das Erdgas in einer ersten Expansionsmaschine (3) mit Generator (7) auf einen Druck zwischen 60 und 100 bar entspannt. Anschließend wird das Gas einer Niedertemperaturbehandlung zur Abscheidung von Kohlenwasserstoffen mit mindestens 5 C-Atomen zugeführt und danach einer Sauergas-Reinigungsstufe (10) zur Entfernung von C0 2 und sauren Schwefelkomponenten zugeführt. Nach einer Zwischenabkühlung wird das Gas mindestens einer weiteren Reinigungsstufe (18, 20) zum Abtrennen mindestens eines Stoffes aus der Gruppe Sauergasverbindungen, C0 2 , H 2 0 und von restlichen Kohlenwasserstoffen mit mindestens 6 C-Atomen zugeführt. Schließlich wird das Gas in einer zweiten Expansionsmaschine (22) mit Generator (23) auf einen Druck zwischen 20 und 60 bar entspannt. Zur Erzeugung von H-Gas wird das Gas im Anschluß an die zweite Expansionsmaschine (22) einem Cryogen-Separator (24) zur Abtrennung des Stickstoffs vom Methan zugeführt.
