A process for at least partly regenerating a first absorption solvent stream, at high pressure, and loaded with a dissolved gaseous component X; comprising the following steps: contacting a feed gas stream with a lean second absorption solvent stream thereby producing a rich second solvent stream and a stripping gas stream that has a lower concentration of X than said feed gas stream; heating at least part of said rich second solvent stream by up to 100° C. before or during contacting it with a part of said stripping gas stream to produce a regenerated second solvent stream; and regenerating the loaded first solvent stream by contacting this stream with a further part of said stripping gas stream to yield a regenerated first solvent stream.

The invention relates to a method for treating a process gas flow containing CO 2 that is produced whilst producing pure synthesis gas from the crude gas of the process gas flow or during the partial oxidation of heavy olis, petroleum cokes and waste substances or during coal gasification or during the treatment of natural gas or gas which accompanies petroleum, from which CO 2 is removed by physisorption or chemisorption and the solvent charged with CO 2 is released at a low pressure for the desorption of the CO 2 . In order to produce CO 2 as pure as possible, the unpurified CO 2 is compressed at least at 60 bar[a] or below the critical temperature thereof to at least 70 bar[a] and the impurities contained in the liquid CO 2 are removed by stripping with gaseous CO 2 guided into the counter flow.
