Abstract:
According to the invention, the compositions and methods provide for the complete removal of labels, synthetic glues and/or adhesives from a plurality of surfaces through the use of an aqueous or non-aqueous basic organic solvent and/or an amidine, optionally in combination with surfactants, chelants, acidulants and/or additional bottle wash additives. Beneficially, the compositions and methods are suitable for use at lower temperatures and pH conditions, along with under caustic-free and/or reduced caustic conditions to effectively remove such labels, synthetic glues and/or adhesives from a surface within less than about 30 minutes.
Abstract:
Silicone hydrogel contact lenses are packaged in a packaging solution including an ophthalmically-acceptable concentration of a surfactant to provide a contact lens having a lower coefficient of friction compared to a control lens that is not packaged in the surfactant. The surfactant is a poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)-containing surfactant having a molecular weight of up to about 6,000 daltons, or is an alkyl aryl-containing surfactant, or is both an alkyl aryl and PEO-containing surfactant having a molecular weight of up to about 6,000 daltons. Methods of manufacturing silicone hydrogel contact lenses are also described.
Abstract:
Gel prevention agents and methods for use with agricultural products include certain alkylamido amines and their quaternary ammonium counterparts that, when blended with products containing alkoxylated surfactants, the alkylamido amines and their quaternary counterparts reduce the gel formation tendency of such products.
Abstract:
Foaming light duty liquid detergent formulations that contain at least one cleaning solvent, at least one anionic surfactant and at least foam stabilizing surfactant are disclosed. The compositions of the presently described technology are useful for soil removal applications including, but not limited to, washing dishes by hand and cleaning bathroom and kitchen articles and/or surfaces.
Abstract:
A particulate fabric softening composition, comprising one or more ethylenediamine fatty acid diamides and one or more quaternary ammonium salt fabric softeners, the composition having an exothermal transition at a temperature between 60 and 90 °C with an exothermal transition enthalpy of more than 5 J/g measured by DSC with a heating rate of 2 °C/min, can be press shaped to multiple use, dryer added fabric softening articles having high initial surface hardness. The fabric softening composition can be made by cooling a molten mixture comprising one or more ethylenediamine fatty acid diamides and one or more quaternary ammonium salt fabric softeners to a temperature of 40 °C or less at a high cooling rate.

Abstract:
A stable, pourable and water dispersible fabric softening composition comprising: (i) from about 2% to about 35%, by weight, of a combination of softening components (A) and (B) wherein: (A) is a cationic fabric softening compound; and (B) is a fatty amide compound; (ii) from about 0 to about 10%, by weight, of a polysiloxane; and: (iii) balance water and optionally adjuvants selected from the group consisting of perfumes; dyes; sequestrants; thickeners; and anti dye-transfer polymeric materials.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Disclosed are thickened light-duty liquid or gel dishwashing detergent compositions that are especially useful for the manual washing of heavily soiled dishware. Such compositions essentially contain an alkyl ether sulfate-based anionic surfactant, a polyhydroxy fatty acid amide-based nonionic surfactant component, a suds booster which is preferably an amine oxide, an aqueous liquid carrier, a pH control agent such as potassium carbonate to provide a relatively alkyline product, and an acrylic copolymer thickener such as AcusolTM 820.
