Layers may be formed by elongate multicellular bodies comprising a plurality of cultured animal cells that are adhered and/or cohered to one another; wherein the elongate multicellular bodies are arranged to form a substantially planar layer for use in formation of engineered animal skin, hide, and leather. Further described herein are methods of forming engineered animal skin, hide, and leather utilizing said layers of animal collagen-producing cells.

    摘要： Um ein vollnarbiges, an seiner Narbenseite mit einer Zurichtung (3) aus einer verfestigen Kunststoffdispersion bestehenden Zurichtung versehen ist, zu schaffen, bei welchem die erforderlichen Eigenschaften des Leders gewährleistet sind und bei welchem der Herstellungsvorgang wesentlich vereinfacht und kostengünstiger ist, wird vorgeschlage, eine Rindlederhaut mit mechanisch unbehandelte Narbenseite zunächst zumindest zwei Stunden einem Walkvorgang zu unterziehen, wobei sich eine typische Walknappastruktur mit einem Natur-Walknappakorn bildet, und in der Folge auf die Narbenseite eine Pigmentpartikel sowie gegebenenfalls weitere Zusätze enthaltende Polyurethandispersion aufzutragen und anschließend trocknen zu lassen. Die verfestigte, die Zurichtung (3) bildende Dispersion weist eine Stärke vorzugsweise zwischen 0,05mm und 0,07mm auf.

The surface (4) of the grain layer (2) is then subjected to pressure and heat at a temperature of at least 100 °C by means of a pressure roll rolling off on said surface, thereby producing in the indentations a synthetic mass in which microspheres (5) formed from the compact particles are present and which completely fills in the indentations.
